Samsung just announced Samsung Galaxy A52 in Nepal and oh boy, I was kinda surprised by the price it has been announced in Nepal. The ‘A’ series of Samsung phones mainly fall in the premium mid-range segment and have more features and looks more than value for money, but this time things are quite different.
You get a decently powerful Snapdragon SoC, 90Hz AMOLED, IP 67 Rating, OIS in the camera, and much more. Today we will be comparing it with the recently launched Oppo F19 Pro, as they fall in almost the same price segment. Oppo comes with Helio P95, 30W charging, and lightweight. So today let’s have a comparison between these two devices and see which one you should go with.

Design and Display
Samsung Galaxy A52 features a similar design to the A72 with a quad-camera at the back, a Samsung logo at the bottom, and a punch-hole display at the front. Talking about the display it’s a 6.7 inch FHD+ AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. While the Oppo has a similar-looking quad-camera setup at the back. Whereas at the front we get a 6.4-inch FHD+ 60Hz AMOLED display with the punch hole at the top left corner.
Oppo F19 Pro is 17gm lighter at 172gm and 0.6mm thinner with its 7.8 mm thin body. While Samsung here has a plus point because of its IP 67 dust/waterproof rating and stereo speaker setup.
Performance and Battery
When it comes to performance Galaxy A52 seems to be a clear winner with its Snapdragon 720G SoC and Adreno 618 GPU along with 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The Snapdragon 720G is an octa-core CPU with 2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver and is manufactured under 8nm finFET technology. While on the Oppo side it offers, Mediatek’s Helio P95 is a 12nm Octa-core CPU with 2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores and PowerVR GM9446. Here too we get 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.
There is not much difference in the battery capacity as Oppo has 4310mAh size while we get 4500mAh on the Samsung. When it comes to charging though, Oppo gets a plus point with 30W fast charging compared to the 25W on the Samsung, and the charger is provided in the box of both the devices.
Camera & Software
Samsung has done a good upgrade in its cameras compared to last year. This time on the A52 we have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, which is also Optically Stabilized. The next one is a 12MP f/2.2 shooter with a 123˚ ultra-wide view. While the next two are 5MP f/2.4 each, macro and depth sensor, and at the front we get a 32MP f/2.0 shooter with 4K video recording at 30fps both at the front and the back.
Whereas on the Oppo we get a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera, without any OIS. Along with that, we get an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with a 119˚ field of view. While the last two shooters are 2MP f/2.4 each, macro and depth camera. The Oppo can shoot 4K at 30fps from the rear camera while the front maxes out at 1080P at 30fps.
Talking about the software Oppo F19 Pro runs on Color OS 11.1 on top of Android 11. While Samsung Galaxy A52 runs on Samsung’s own One UI 3.1 also on top of Android 11.

Oppo F19 Pro is priced at Rs. 44,990 in Nepal for it’s 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant. While you can get Samsung Galaxy A52 at Rs.41,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and as of now, these are the only variants of both the devices, launched in Nepal.
