Xiaomi Mi 11i launched with Super AMOLED & 120Hz Display

As the year starts, Xiaomi is back with its first smartphone launch in India. Though the device is a rebranded version of a Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro series, the Xiaomi 11i, and Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge have been announced today in India and the price is not so budget-friendly as any other typical Xiaomi phone. In this article let’s have a closer look into Xiaomi 11i along with its specification, features, and expected price in Nepal. 

Build and Design 

Xiaomi 11i features a boxy design, unlike the other Xiaomi device. We have flat edges and a big camera module at the back. We get Gorilla Glass 5 at the unspecified glass at the back along with the Xiaomi logo.  The device has a heft as it weighs 207gm and is 8.3mm thin. We have a stereo speaker setup along with a 3.5mm Audio jack with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. Summing up the design we get an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance. 

Display 

With the Xiaomi 11i, we are treated with a large 6.67 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display supports HDR10 and has a typical brightness of 700nits and can reach a maximum of upto 1200nits under peak conditions. This large display combined with a stereo speaker setup will result in an immersive multimedia experience. 

Performance 

After the design and display now let’s have a look into the performance of the device. Xiaomi 11i features a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G SoC. Though it’s not the most powerful chip can handle most of the tasks really well. It is an Octa-core CPU 2×2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores coupled with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. This coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage will result in a great midrange performance in its department. We have to see how well the MIUI will be optimized for this SoC. 

Camera 

We all know mid-range Xiaomi devices are not much praised for their camera quality. But we have seen some improvement from the past few iterations. Talking about the Xiaomi 11i we get a triple camera setup at the back with a primary 108 MP, f/1.9, dual pixel PDAF Sensor along with an 8MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide camera with a 120˚  field of view, while the last one is a 2MP f/2.4 macro shooter. 

Now coming toward the front we get a 16MP f/2.5 selfie shooter. The device can record upto 4K Videos from its rear camera setup upto 4K@30 fps while the front one caps out at 1080p@30fps. 

Battery and Other features 

Xiaomi 11i packs a 5160mAh cell and supports 67W of fast wired charging which can charge the device from 0-50% under 13 minutes, and you will be getting this faster charge right out of the box and no need to pay extra like some flagships. Talking about the software, Xiaomi 11i runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced edition on top. Shipping a device still with Android 11, in 2022 is something Xiaomi should improve. While for the connectivity we get 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi6, though the NFC is missing.

As of now, Xiaomi 11i has been launched officially in India, starting at a price tag of INR. 24,999 for 6/128GB variant. Looking at past Xiaomi records, we could see Xiaomi 11i launching soon in Nepal. The expected price of Xiaomi 11i in Nepal is NRs. 42,999 for 6GB/128GB and NRs.45,999 for the higher 8GB/128GB variant.
