Even after the launch of the Redmi Note 11 series, Xiaomi still seems unwilling to end its 10 series as it launched Redmi 10A. It is the latest budget-friendly smartphone from Xiaomi which is powered by the helio G25 chipset with 6.4inch IPS LCD display. Right after the launch of the Redmi 10A in Nepal, I am testing this device and in this article, I will share my experience of using this smartphone in my daily life.
Firstly, talking about its pricing, it’s a budget-friendly phone which costs only Rs. 13,999 (3/32GB) and Rs. 15,999 (3/64GB) in Nepal. I found it quite cheaper with the reasonable features offered.

Redmi 10 A Review
Design and build quality
Still being a budget-centric smartphone, Redmi 10 A design feels like the decent one. Whereas, it has a similar design to Redmi 10 which has a big square patch on the rear that embeds Redmi branding with a fingerprint sensor, and a camera. On the right side, there are volume and power buttons with a triple slot on the left. Furthermore, on the bottom, you will see a mic, a USB port, and a speaker and on the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The design of the phone is satisfactory as being rudimentary. I found it easy on the grip because of its lightweight and slim model.
Display

Talking, about its display, being a budget-friendly phone. I think it’s okay to have 6.53 inches of IPS LCD which offers a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. Its 6.53 inches display makes it an ideal option for watching movies, youtube videos but you can’t view 4k content on youtube, and the max video quality is 1080p. Whereas talking about its LCD panel I found it bright even using outdoors, but definitely, it’s not the brightest display on the market.

Redmi 10 A has a dual camera setup on its back with a primary sensor of 13MP with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP of depth sensor. While clicking the picture in the daylight, I found this smartphone is capable to click good photos under certain lighting. But deep down it seems like it lacks saturation.
Moving onto its portrait feature, it seems it is good. As while clicking a portrait, the background gets blurred as required and edge detection was good.
Now, talking about its Front camera. I am a little dissatisfied with its quality having only 5MP. The selfie does not look attractive and exposure is inconsistent. Whereas, video quality is also not good enough it lacks sharpness.

Redmi 10A is powered by MediaTek Helio G25, which is the old chipset. The chipset is a little dissatisfactory. For a budget-centric phone, it’s good to have an Octa-core CPU with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. Furthermore, talking about storage, it has memory configurations of 3GB RAM+32 GB ROM and 3GB RAM+64GB ROM. Moreover, it has a dedicated micro SD card slot.
Whereas, I rate it average for smoothly running of apps or using a browser. When it comes to gaming, this smartphone is not made for heavy graphics games like PUBG, Free Fire, and Clash Royale.
It runs on Android 11, with MIUI 12.5 skin on the top, which is the old android version. Whereas, looking at the history of Xiaomi’s upgrade of OS, it rarely upgrades android on budget-friendly phones. However, I expect at least to have Android 12.
Battery and others

Moving onto its battery, it has 5000mAh, which is a good battery capacity. At moderate use, Redmi 10A did last for a day during my review period. Whereas it has only 10W of charging, and it’s slow & time-consuming.
Furthermore, its speaker was good which provides nice sound quality.
Final thoughts on Redmi 10A review
Redmi 10A is a successor to the previous Redmi 10. Being a budget smartphone it has all the basic features needed. So, I recommend this smartphone to users who prefer moderate features at a reasonable price.
