Let’s dive into Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G Full Review and see how it performs with its MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor and a 200MP main camera.
Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G Full Review: Detailed Discussion, Pros and Cons
Design
The Note 13 Pro+ by redmi impresses me. It has tough front and back glass, which feels smooth because the edges are rounded. This makes it look sleek and not bulky like other cheaper Xiaomi phones. Some people might not like the curved screen, but I think it’s cool. Also, only the Pro+ model has IP68 certification, which is pretty neat.
The phone feels nice to hold, but the back is a bit slippery. The top part, where the cameras are, is shiny but gets fingerprints easily. Luckily, it comes with a cover to protect it.
It doesn’t have a headphone jack or a slot for a memory card, which is a downside. But it does have two speakers for good sound and room for two SIM cards. Plus, it supports eSIM, which is nice.
On the sides, there are buttons for volume and power. They feel well-made and are easy to use. Overall, it’s a great phone, but people with small hands might find it tricky to handle.
Display
Let’s talk about the display of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. It’s pretty impressive. All five Redmi Note 13 models have a big 6.67-inch screen, but the Pro+ stands out with its high resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels. This means it has many pixels packed into the screen, making images and text look sharp. The display also gets bright, up to 1,800 cd/m², which is great for using the phone outdoors. Plus, it has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, which makes everything look smoother.
The colors on the screen look really good too, covering the full DCI-P3 color space. It also supports fancy stuff like Dolby Vision and HDR 10+, which make videos look even better. And there’s a fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen that works quickly and reliably.
Overall, the display on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is so good that you wouldn’t expect it on a phone that costs twice as much.
Performance
Talking about the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and what makes it tick. It’s powered by a chip called the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra, which is pretty decent. It comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, which means it can handle a lot of stuff you throw at it.
The Dimensity 7200 Ultra isn’t the absolute best chip out there, but it’s still good enough for most things you’ll do with your phone. It has two powerful cores that can go up to 2.8 GHz and six other cores that help save power. The phone didn’t even get heated a bit while using.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ takes full advantage of this chip. It supports cameras with up to 200 megapixels, fast RAM, and storage. When I ran benchmark tests on the phone, it got decent scores on its section.
When it comes to performance, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ does pretty well. It might not be as fast as the most expensive phones out there, but it’s not disappointing. In tests, it beats out other phones in its price range and even some more expensive ones.
The one thing that impressed me is its wildlife stress test. I ran two stress tests, the WildLife stress test and the WildLife extreme stress test. The phone performed better than I expected. It even didn’t get heated as much as I guessed it would initially. Look at the graphs, those are steady graphs showing not much fluctuation in stress.
When it comes to gaming, it does a decent job. It might not handle super demanding games perfectly, but it can handle most games without any issues. It stays pretty cool even when you’re playing for a while, which is nice.

Camera
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has a triple camera system, but the star of the show is the 200MP main camera. It takes sharp, colorful photos with great dynamic range, even in low light. You can choose between a high-resolution 200MP mode or a smaller 12.5MP mode that’s still fantastic for everyday use.
The other two cameras are less impressive. The 8MP ultrawide camera takes decent photos in good lighting, but details get soft towards the edges and colors can be a bit off. Night mode helps here, but overall it’s just average. The 2MP macro camera is pretty much useless and can be ignored.
The selfie camera is 16MP and takes good pictures, especially in portrait mode. There can be some issues with clean background separation if you move while taking the photo.
While a telephoto camera would be nice, the main camera’s zoom performs well up to 2x, and even 4x zoom is usable with some compromises. Considering the phone’s price (around 450 euros) and the overall quality of the main camera, the lack of a dedicated zoom lens is a forgivable omission.
The night mode is not as satisfactory for me as I expected. Still, it managed to get some decent pictures but where there light is abundant, the picture has overnoise.
Overall, if you’re looking for a phone with a great main camera for everyday use, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a strong option. But if you need a powerful ultrawide camera or a lot of zoom capability, you might want to consider other phones.
Connectivity
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ stays connected in all the ways you’d expect from a top-of-the-line phone. It has 5G for super-fast internet, space for two SIM cards (or one SIM and one eSIM), NFC for contactless payments, Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connections, and GPS that can pinpoint your location very accurately.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G packs a 5,000 mAh battery, which is good but not the most outstanding. The phone makes up for this with incredibly fast 120W wired charging. The included charger can juice up the phone to 100% in under 30 minutes! Even a quick 5-minute charge can give you 20% battery, perfect for those moments when you’re running low. In our tests, the phone lasted for 13 hours and 5 minutes of continuous use, which is average. However, in real-world use, with moderate to heavy use, you can comfortably get through a full day on a single charge. While the fast charging is fantastic, it’s a shame that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G doesn’t support wireless charging.

Verdict

While it skips on features like wireless charging, a telephoto camera, and the latest software, these are minor concessions considering the overall value.
