March has been the month for gaming phones, and after the Asus ROG Phone 5 and Nubia Red Magic 6 unveiling, the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 series has also been launched at a Chinese launch event. Gaming smartphone brand Black Shark has officially launched its latest handsets in the Black Shark 4 series. The lineup includes a total of two devices, namely Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro. Here, let’s take a look at the design, specs, features, price, and availability of these phones in this article.
Black Shark 4 and 4 pro overview:
Design and display:
The Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro both come in 6.67 inches with 1080 x 2400 pixels. The Black shark 4 series features a Super AMOLED screen display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. It also features a peak brightness of up to 1300nits.
Both the phones come in a design that screams ‘gaming’ with physical popping gaming triggers in both the phones. The phones have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and both the phone’s weight a bit on the heavier side with weighing 210 and 220 grams.
Performance:
The Black Shark 4 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor built with a 7nm transistor. Whereas the black shark 4 pro features the newest chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor built with a 5nm transistor. Both devices are based on Android 11, Joy UI 12.5 operating system. It has many features designed to allocate as many resources as possible to gaming and keep distracting notifications out of the way.
Also, Black shark 4 Pro got a two-layer liquid cooling system to handle the extra heat. The first layer is directly below the screen, sandwiching the chipset and the other valuable internals with the second layer.
Camera:
Talking about Black Shark 4, the device comes with a triple camera setup. The main camera is 48 MP, f/1.8 aperture wide-angle camera further supported by 8 MP, f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide camera giving angle view of 120˚. Completing the triple setup, there is a 5MP macro camera. The rear camera supports video recording up to 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, and 1080p@960fps.
Lastly, the front camera comes with a 20 MP wide-angle camera supporting video recording up to 1080p@30fps.
Likewise, the Black Shark 4 Pro features a triple camera setup featuring a main camera with 64MP f/1.8aperture wide-angled camera further supported by an 8MP ultrawide camera and 5MP macro camera. The camera supports video recording up to 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, and 1080p@960fps.
Lastly, the front camera comes with a 20MP, f/2.5 aperture wide-angle camera supporting video recording up to 1080p@30fps.
Other specs:
The Black shark 4 series is powered by a 4500 mAh battery supporting fast charging of 120W. Black Shark expects the gaming to be so intense; it even launched special “e-sports finger gloves” for the most dedicated gamers. Further, the Black Shark 4 series comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and with dual stereo speakers.

Black Shark 4 series price and availability in Nepal:
With the launch of the black 4 series in China, the phone’s price is ¥2,499 ($384) for the base variant of Black shark 4 and ¥3,999 ($614) for the base variant of black shark 4 Pro. It will be available in 5 colour variants of Magic Mirror Black, Ink Sea Black, Lingguang Gray, Storm Blue, and Sakura Dance Pink. The smartphones are currently up for pre-order in China, and their first sale is scheduled for March 26 in the country.
Regarding the availability of the Black Shark 4 series in Nepal, we don’t have any official statements. But since we do have an authorized distributor of Black Shark Smartphone in Nepal, there is a possibility that it might launch in Nepal sooner or later.
