Daraz 11.11 is one of the biggest shopping events in the world organized annually across all Alibaba markets on the 11th of November. This was the second time Daraz came up with an 11.11 sale in Nepal. Despite the pandemic situation and the way things are going on Daraz Nepal managed to conduct the campaign smoothly and got a better response than the previous years.
Daraz is breaking and Making New Records
Daraz was well prepared for this 24-hour sale campaign. During the first hour of the sale day, Daraz registered sales worth NPR. 2.52 crore. This is almost 60% more if you compare it will last year’s first hour. If we see the stats, Daraz reported more than 5.2 lakh users throughout the day.
Increasing No. of Online Transactions
Daraz 11.11 sale also saw a rapid increase in the numbers of online transactions. As Daraz offered 15-20 % off while paying through bank cards or e-Sewa, 45% of total sales payment was done through these methods. During the time of the pandemic, it is important to reduce the contact as much as possible and online payment is a better way to go than cash-on-delivery.
Huge Participation Throughout the country
Talking more about the participations, according to Daraz overall, 7000+ sellers participated in 11.11, selling to 27 different cities across the country, exceeding sales numbers significantly compared to last year’s 11.11. Few highlights of the Event were newly launched POCO C3 and POCO M2 from POCO Nepal. These devices received a warm welcome from the Nepali audience and were selling out within the first hour of the campaign launch.
Daraz 11.11 was a victory
Overall, Daraz 11.11 was a major hit. During this challenging situation, it came as a boon for both consumers and sellers. The Daraz 11.11 event also helped many small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) as 23% of total sale orders during 11.11 were generated by SMEs who went online during the pandemic facilitated by Daraz’s Sahayatri stimulus package.
After the event, Lino Ahlering, the Managing Director of Daraz Nepal said “This year’s event garnered even more users, more sellers, more buyers, and faster deliveries than the last two years with the first 11.11 order being delivered already at 8 am the same day. Daraz is now making sure customers get their orders delivered in a timely and safe manner for which the company has hired 700 additional delivery personnel.”
The e-commerce market in Nepal is growing bigger day by day. This is good news for both sellers and consumers. Did you got anything for yourself or your loved ones on the Daraz 11.11 and if yes, How was your shopping experience? Let us know in the comment section below.
