NTC, the largest ISP of Nepal has launched Fiber To The Home (FTTH) service in Kathmandu today. NTC says, this service will help their customer to use reliable and fast internet from their home. As the name suggests Fiber To The Home service will use Optical Fiber to send and receive data which will ultimately help to gain fast and reliable internet. With help of FTTH service, customers can use the high broadband internet service from 1Mbps to 100Mbps as well as IP-based voice service.
Right now people living in Durbarmarg, Kamaladi, Kathmandu Plaza, and the Jamal area can only use this internet service. NTC says they will expand the services outside the Kathmandu valley which includes Bharatpur, Pokhara, Birgunj, Biratnagar, and Butwol near future.
NTC will be offering FTTH service in two packages, Unlimited Plan and Volume Based Internet Package. The unlimited plan starts from Rs.8000.00 per month whereas the Volume Based Internet Package starts from Rs.1140.00 per month exclusive TAX.
