Design & Display

Right up front, Samsung A72 packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz S.AMOLED display, but it won’t shine much on the font of a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 1200 nits of max brightness, Gorilla Glass 5 and HDR10+, present on the POCO F3. For the design, both of the devices pack a different look. Samsung has a plastic back while the POCO holds Gorilla Glass 5 on its back. Both the devices pack stereo speakers.

Samsung A72 comes with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, which is not common at this price segment.  Along with that, you even get a 3.5mm jack on the A72, which is missing on POCO F3. Whereas POCO F3 backs up with the slimmer design, lightweight, and inclusion of an IR blaster.

Camera & Software

POCO F3 might not impress you a lot in the camera department when compared with the A72. The Samsung Galaxy A72 packs a quad-camera setup with 64MP f/1.8 Primary Camera with OIS, and A72 is the only device packing OIS at this price point. Along with that, you get an 8MP f/2.4 3x telephoto lens, 12MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide, and 5MP macro shooter. While at the front, we get 32 MP, f/2.2 shooter, and can record 4K from both front and back.

While on the POCO F3, we have a quad-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 primary shooter along with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro shooter. Whereas at the front, you get a 20MP f/2.5 selfie shooter. If you want a better Camera, then Samsung A72 might be a good pick for you.

Talking about the Software, both the devices run on Android 11, with Samsung having its ONE UI 3.1 on top and POCO comes with MIUI 12.0.4.

Performance and Battery

This is the category where POCO F3 excels at any other device in its price segment. POCO F3 packs flagship-level Snapdragon 870 5G SoC. In the performance chart, it stands between 865+ and 888. While Adreno 650 GPU handles the GPU duties. All this, along with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, POCO F3, can handle anything you throw at it. Let it be heavy multitasking, playing games at highest settings POCO F3 can do it all.

While the Galaxy A72 comes with last year’s Snapdragon 720G. It is a good mid-range SoC with Adreno 618 GPU, along with 8GB RAM. The device can handle day-to-day tasks and medium-level gaming, but POCO will be a better choice for better performance and gaming in the long run.

Samsung A72 packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 25W charging, with a charger provided in the box. POCO F3 has a 4520mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and a charger is provided in the box.

Samsung Galaxy A72 is available in two different variants, starting at NRs. 51,999 for 8GB+128GB and for 8GB+256GB variant it costs NRs. 54,999. Whereas POCO F3 is more affordable at NRS.46,999 for 6GB+128GB and NRs.51,999 for 8GB+256GB.
