Speculations on App Inclusions:

While specific details regarding the types of apps that will be featured in the “App Mall” remain undisclosed, it is speculated that Android and web apps, including games, will likely be included. This speculation is supported by Chromebooks’ current ability to discover certain apps through the built-in “Explore” app, suggesting that the “App Mall” will expand on this foundation to offer a more comprehensive app discovery experience.

Enhancing User Experience:

The introduction of the “App Mall” could significantly improve the user experience, simplifying the process of finding and installing new apps and games on Chromebooks. In addition to the “App Mall,” Google is also enhancing the Chrome browser experience with the introduction of three new generative AI features in its latest release (M121) for users in the U.S. on Mac and Windows PCs.

These features include AI Tab Groups for automatically organizing open tabs, Custom Themes with AI for creating personalized themes using a text-to-image diffusion model, and “Help Me Write,” an AI-powered writing assistance tool set to launch soon.
