As the tablet market is hotter day by day, we have yet another Premium tablet launched in the Nepali market. This time it’s from Huawei. Huawei has launched its Huawei Mate Pad 10.8 in Nepal. The tablet packs flagship hardware with its own Harmony OS 2.0. Today, in this article we will be having a brief look into the specification and features along with the official price of the Huawei MatePad Pro in Nepal.

Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 Overview

Design and Display

At first glance, the tablet looks like any other tablet in 2021 with rounded corners at the front and thin at just 7.2mm. At the front, we also get a punch hole housing the camera at the top right corner. We get an aluminum frame with a glass back that supports fast wireless charging. For the speakers, we have a quad-speaker setup tuned by Harman Kardon.

Talking about the display at the front, we have 10.8 inches of IPS LCD Display with a maximum brightness of 540 Hz. The display has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, and the refresh rate maxes out at just 60Hz, which is kind of a bummer when Xiaomi Pad 5 from Xiaomi offers a 120Hz display at price 3 times less than the Huawei MatePad Pro. It also has TUV Rheinland certification against blue light. The display also supports DCI-P3 Color Gamut.

Performance and Software

The Huawei MatePad Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s last year’s flagship Snapdragon 870 SoC. It’s a 7nm Octa-core CPU clocked at 3.2 GHz along with Andreno 650 GPU. For the memory configuration, we get 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Huawei MatePad Pro is currently the most powerful android tablet, which you can buy in the Nepali market.

If Samsung launches its latest S8 series of tablets in Nepal, Huawei MatePad Pro could get some competition from Samsung. At this price point, it is also competing with Apple’s Pro series of iPads which has top-of-the-line performance and optimized iPad OS.

Talking about the Software Huawei MatePad Pro runs on Huawei’s own Harmony OS 2.0. Huawei has done really good work with its software this time. It comes with tins of features specially catered to a large canvas of Huawei MatePad Pro. Its interactive widgets, bottom dock at the home screen, and feature-rich control panel are some of my favorites. The tablet also has easy cross-platform sync with your laptop.

Camera and Other Specs

Talking about the Camera we get a 13MP f/1.8 camera setup at the back with an LED flash while at the front we have an 8MP shooter. Talking about connectivity we have WIFI only variant in Nepal. The tablet supports Wifi 6 along with Bluetooth 5.1. You get support for the second generation M-Pencil with a nearly 20 ms latency. Along with that we also get support for HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard. The good thing is, you get both stylus and keyboard when you get the device. So it won’t add extra cost to your setup, unlike apple where you have to buy them separately and they are too expensive too.
