Apple has announced three new devices yesterday, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus, and Apple watch. With the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple is clearly moving to a new direction (bigger is better). Last year when iPhone 5s was launched with a 4inch display, Apple said a 4inch display is perfect for one-hand use.

Also, there was a time when Apple’s fans used to make to the fun of Samsung devices saying it’s too big to use by one hand. But as we all know 4inch devices are just too small on today’s date and I think Apple made the right decision by bringing to new devices with two different sizes. So without any further ado let’s find out the key specifications of the new iPhone 6.
iPhone 6 specifications:
- Dimensions: 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm (129gm)
- Display: 4.7inch LED-backlit IPS LCD with a resolution of 750x1334pixels (326ppi)
- Processor: Apple A8 Dual-core 1.4GHz CPU with PowerVR GX6650 GPU
- Memory: 1GB RAM, 16/64/128 GB internal storage with no microSD card slot
- OS: iOS 8
- Camera: 8MP rear camera with autofocus and true tone flash, 1.2MP front-facing camera
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, 4G LTE
- Sensors: Touch ID, Barometer, Three-axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity, and Ambient light sensor
- Battery: Non-removable lithium-ion battery
iPhone 6 now comes with rounded edges and thin body which makes this device very comfortable to use by one hand. Also if your thumb is not reaching to the top of the display then you can always double-tap on the home button to bring the user interface closer to the thumb. With new A8 CPU and PowerVR GX6650 GPU, iPhone 6 delivers a 20% faster CPU and 50% faster GPU performance compared to last year’s iPhone 5s even though iPhone 6 still comes with just 1GB of RAM.
iPhone 6 comes with an 8MP iSight camera but Apple says it can take better photos compared to last year’s iPhone 5s. 8MP rear camera can record 1080p video at 60fps and slo-mo video up to 240fps. But still, iPhone 6 camera lacks 4k video recording and OIS which can make some of the apple’s fans sad and android fans happy.
Finally, NFC has made its way to the iPhone 6 which will help you to make a wireless payment through Apple Pay which is useless in Nepal. And lastly talking about the battery life of iPhone 6, you can get up to 14hrs of talk time on 3G, 11hrs of internet use on Wi-Fi, 11hrs of video playback, and 50hrs of audio playback.
iPhone 6 will not launch in Nepal officially but like always you can by iPhone 6 from the gray market. Usually, iPhones are imported from HongKong in Nepal and iPhone 6 will be available from September 19 in Hongkong at HK$5,588 for a 16GB model. So iPhone 6 might hit the Nepalese market after September 19. We might also expect the price of the iPhone 6 in Nepal somewhere between Nrs.80000-90000 for a 16GB version. But if you look back to history, iPhone fans have bought iPhone 5 and 5s paying more then 1 lakh in Nepal at the beginning of the launch. But still, take the price as a grain of salt. I will update the price of the iPhone 6 as soon as it will hit the Nepalese market.
Update: iPhone 6 is no longer available in Nepal officially
