Mediatek is having its ongoing summit and has announced the world’s first 4nm SoC MediaTek 9000 5G, manufactured by TSMC. With the announcement, MediaTek has promised better performance with an increase in inefficiency. This is the first sub-6Ghz 5G chip equipped with a cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.05Ghz along with Bluetooth 5.3. Let’s have a close look into the specs and features of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G SoC.
MediaTek 9000 5G SoC Overview
CPU structure
MediaTek 9000 5G is an octa-core CPU with three cluster designs (1+3+4). For the performance we have Cortex-02 Ultra core clocked at 3.05Ghz, along with that we get 3x “super cores” Cortex-A710 clocked up to 2.85Ghz, while for the efficiency cores we get 4 Cortex A510 cores clocked at 1.8Ghz.
Memory Support
The SoC is equipped with 14MB of cache memory, which is claimed to be25% more efficient while increasing the performance by up to 7% compared to 8MB cache memory. During the event MediaTek stated that the 9000 5G SoC surpassed the “Android Flagship”, indirectly pointing toward the Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm. Along with this, we get support for LPDDR5X RAM with a speed of up to 7500 Mbps.

GPU and APU
For the GPU duties, MediaTek 9000 5G is equipped with Mali-G710 MC10, 10 core GPU. MediaTek states that they are working on a new ray-tracing SDK for the developers to take full advantage of this powerful GPU and if MediaTek is able to pull this off, then it would be a huge heap into the mobile gaming industry. While for the Ai tasks, MediaTek is stating improvement up to 4X than their previous Chips with 4 performance and 2 extra flexible cores. Meditek says that the APU of their latest SoC can outperform the one on the Google Tensor by 16% during AI-related tasks.
ISP and Connectivity
On the MediaTek 9000 5G we have 3 ISP layouts like the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which can record three streams of 4K HDR videos with three cameras at once. It even supports a single Camera of up to 320MP. For the connectivity, MediaTek 9000 5G is equipped with an integrated 5G modem which can reach speeds of 7Gbps with 3CC carrier aggregation. Though the speeds vary according to your region and your service provider. While we don’t have support for mmWave 5G. We get Bluetooth V5.3 along with Wifi 6E.
