Xiaomi announced its new 5G smartphone that it claims to be the light-weighted and slimmest 5G smartphone yet- Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. Besides its slim build, the handset has a good quality display, IP53 dust and splash protection, and 33W fast charging support.

Likewise, in the same month, Samsung unveiled another 5G smartphone- Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. The Galaxy M52 5G features a 120Hz refresh rate, sound camera setup, and 25W fast charging support.

Both the 5G smartphones fall under the same price range with the same processor. So, let’s get into their comparison and have a glance at their pros and cons.

Design and Display

Design-wise, Galaxy M52 is slightly bigger than the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. Both the devices can be easily differentiated considering their looks. At the rear panel, Galaxy M52 features a vertical rectangular camera bump housing its triple camera setup vertically. Also, the Galaxy M52 5G wears the standard ‘Samsung’ logo at the bottom center of the textured rear panel. As for the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, the rear camera setup is arranged in a square camera bump and also features a ‘Xiaomi’ logo at the bottom left of the smooth rear panel. Besides the size, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE is light-weighted and slimmer than the Galaxy M52; so, you might feel more at ease holding the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. 

Additionally, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE is IP53 rated splash and dust resistant, which is not available for the Galaxy M52. Consequently, you’ll have to be extra cautious while walking in rain with Galaxy M52 5G. 

Moving on to the display, both of the devices house their selfie camera inside a punch-hole. Even though both the devices have a display of the same resolution, the size and other features including color accuracy and more may differ. Mi 11 Lite 5G NE flaunts a 6.55 inches AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz whereas Galaxy M52 5G flaunts a bigger Super AMOLED display of 6.7-inches along with a refresh rate of 120Hz. And so, if you wish to have a smoother visual experience, Galaxy M52 5G is the one for you; however, the 90Hz display is also not bad either.

However, in terms of colors, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE might be the winner with its 10bit color display, HDR10+ display, and Dolby Vision support.  

Performance

Under the hood, both the devices are powered by the same Snapdragon 778G 5G processor. Hence, there’s no harm in saying the performance of both devices is similar to a great extent. Besides, both the devices run on Android 11. Mi 11 Lite 5G NE runs on MIUI 12.5 whereas Galaxy M52 5G runs on One UI 3.1. Many have claimed One UI 3.1 to be better than MIUI 12.5 because of its versatility and stability. Also if you go with Galaxy M52 5G, you’ll get 3 major Android OS updates and Android security updates for up to 4 years. Whereas Mi 11 Lite 5G NE might only get 1 major Android OS update in the future. 

As for the storage, Galaxy M52 5G has only one storage option- 128GB with 6GB or 8GB RAM whereas Mi 11 Lite NE 5G has two different storage options- 128GB and 256GB with 8GB RAM.

Camera

As for the camera, both the devices feature a 64MP triple camera setup at the rear panel. As aforementioned, Mi 11 Lite NE 5G has its camera arranged in a square bump whereas Galaxy M52 5G has its camera arranged in a rectangular camera bump. Both the devices feature a 64MP primary lens. For ultra-wide photos, you get a 12MP camera on Galaxy M52 5G whereas Mi 11 Lite 5G NE only comes with an 8MP sensor. As for the third camera, Xiaomi has innovated an integrated telephoto and macro lens in one making it- telephoto macro lens. So, the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE features a 5MP telephoto macro lens as the third camera. Galaxy M52 5G, on the other hand, consists of a 5MP macro lens.  

Mi 11 Lite 5G NE houses a 20MP selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout at the top left of the display while Galaxy M52 5G houses a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout at the center. So, if you are a selfie lover, Galaxy M52 5G is the better option.

As for the video, both offer 4K and slow-mo video features.

Battery

As for the power, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE packs a 4250mAh battery with fast charging support of 33W that is provided inside the box. As for the Galaxy M52 5G, it packs a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support of 25W; however, you will only get a 15W charger inside the box.

Mi 11 Lite 5G NE is priced at Rs. 45,999 for the 8/128GB variant and Rs. 48,999 for the 8/256GB variant.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, on other hand, is priced at Rs. 48,999 for the 6/128GB variant and Rs. 50,999 for the 8/128GB variant.
