As we predicted earlier, Xiaomi launched its Smart TV lineup just before the beginning of the festive season in Nepal. This was the first-ever virtual launch in our country. This might be yet another category was Xiaomi Nepal can show a great impact with their quality products and true pricing. Talking more about the TV lineup, we got 2 new Smart TVs in two different screens & resolutions. The First one is the Mi TV 4X (55) 4K 2020 edition and the next is Mi TV 4A PRO. Let’s take a deep dive to see what these TVs offer.
Mi TV 4A Pro (43″) Specs Overview:
Body & Display
Mi TV 4A is the smaller offering among both. Mi TV 4A Pro comes with a 43-inch FHD panel at the front. While the body is made out of hard plastic. Talking about the weight, the device is 7.6 KG in weight including the base. While at the bac, it can be mounted with the wall mount, which has to be bought separately. Talking more about that display, we get a resolution of 1920 X 1080 with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Here the response time is 6.5ms.
Speakers and Ports
With Mi TV 4A we get a dual speaker setup with a total output of 20W. The speakers are located at the bottom of the TV. You will have a great hearing experience as the features DTS-HD surround sound, which makes the TV viewing much more joyful. Now, talking about the Ports, we get 3 USB Ports, 3 HDMI (1ARC), a single 3.5mm jack, an ethernet jack, and AV ports.
Performance and Software
As this is a Smart TV, it doesn’t pack a beefy spec like your PC or Computer. Though the processor used inside is capable enough to perform smart tv tasks like streaming through OTT platforms like Netflix and Hotstar, playing youtube in full HD, and much more. The SoC used inside is a 64bit Amlogic chip with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with support for Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4Ghz wifi. But don’t even think of gaming on this one.
The TV runs on the latest Android TV 9.0, which enables features like Google Assistant, Youtube, and also Chrome Cast via your smartphone. This is the latest, version of Google Android OS and it brings features like Google Assistant, YouTube, Chromecast, Google Play Store, and Data Saver built-in.
Mi TV 4X (55) 2020 Edition Specs Overview:
Body & Display
Mi TV 4X is the bigger offering among both. This features a 55-inch 4K 10-bit HDR display panel at the front with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 complemented by Xiaomi’s in-house image processing algorithm, Vivid Picture Engine. Being larger in size, this TV weighs at 13KG including the base. The front comes with thin bezels and Mi branding at the front bottom. At the back, we get regular mounting and ports.
Speakers and Ports
In Mi TV 4X we get 20W audio output via the dual 10W bottom-firing speakers. These speakers are DTS-HD® certified along with the support for Dolby Audio. Talking about the ports of the device we get 2 USB 2.0 ports, 3 HDMI Ports(1 ARC), a single S/PDIF port (For audio), AV input, Antena, and an Ethernet jack. This brings a lot of possibilities with the Mi TV, like using it with a gaming console for 4K gaming, connecting a Hard Drive and exploring movies and pictures in full-fledged 4K resolution, and much more.
Performance and Software
As this supports 4K resolution, compare to Mi TV 4A Pro, we get quite a bump in the specs. Here we get Amlogic Cortex A53 64-bit quad-core processor. Talking about the GPU it has, Mali-450 MP3 for handling the GPU duties. With that, we also get support for Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band 2.4 & 5.0 GHz wifi. Along with that, we get 2GB of RAM and 8GB of eMMC storage. You might play light TV games on this one, downloading through the Google Play store.
We have also seen videos of this TV-handling racing game like Asphalt with minor shutters. Yes, 8GB is less but as you are not going to store any pictures or videos like your phone it might be sufficient for our TV app. Also, you can expand it any time via those USB ports.
Talking about the software of this Smart TV, we get Google’s latest Android TV 9.0. This brings the support for Google Assistant voice control even via the remote, Youtube, Chrome cast, and much more app support android app side installing via APK.

Mi TV 4A Pro 43inch is priced at Rs.46,999 whereas Mi TV 4X 4K 55inch is priced at Rs.79,999. Talking about the offline availability of the TVs, Mi TV 4A Pro 42” will be available from 25th September onwards and the bigger Mi TV 4X 55’’ will be available from 30th September.
