Motorola is going to officially launch the Moto Edge X30 powered with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, becoming the first smartphone to be launched powering the chipset. And this makes it the most powerful Motorola smartphone in the market. Motorola unveiled the flagship smartphone in China on December 9, 2021. The device is integrated with many exquisite features along with a new technology of under the display selfie camera in the special edition. For the normal version of Moto Edge X30, a punch hole design is used for the front camera. Let’s get to know more about the device- its specifications, price, and availability.

Moto Edge X30- Overview
Design and Display
Talking about the design, the device has a premium look to it with its glass back that is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The device has a water-repellent design it. At the rear panel, it sports a bump that houses the triple camera setup.
Similarly, at the front of the device, Moto Edge X30 flaunts a 6.7-inches OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Motorola has taken the display quality quite seriously with the 1B colors and HDR 10+ integrated into the device.
Additionally, the device will be available in two different versions- a standard edition and a special edition. Motorola has integrated the selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout in the Standard edition. But, in the case of the special edition, the selfie camera is hidden under the display. Finally, we’ll have a device whose camera won’t disturb us while using the smartphone. No more distractions anymore. Time will tell if users will face some problems with it or not.
Performance
Moving on to the performance, Moto Edge X30 runs on Motorola’s MYUI 3.0 that boots in Android 12. Furthermore, Moto Edge X30 is the first device to feature the most rumored and advanced chipset by Qualcomm- Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The new chipset offers a 20% boost in CPU and a 30% boost in the GPU performance compared to its predecessor- Snapdragon 888/888+. So, we can expect much from Moto Edge X30 in terms of performance.
Along with a magnificent upgrade in the CPU and GPU performance, Moto Edge X30 managed to secure the AnTuTu score of 1,061,361, which is the highest score to date.
Moto Edge X30 will be available in 3 different configurations- 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB.
Camera
As for the camera, Moto Edge X30 flaunts a triple camera setup at the rear panel. The triple camera setup comprises a 50MP primary camera with an OmniVision sensor. The primary camera also features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that aids in stable video recording.
Similarly, the primary camera is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth camera. The rear camera can record up to 8K videos and 960fps slow motion.
Likewise, at the front panel, Moto Edge X30 houses a 60MP OmniVision sensor selfie camera that can capture RAW photos too.
As mentioned previously, Moto Edge X30 will be available in two different versions- The standard version and the special edition version. In the standard version, Moto Edge X30 houses the selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout hidden under the display so that the camera hole won’t disturb you while scrolling through your phone. Time will tell how this new concept pans out.
Battery
Moving on to the battery, Moto Edge X30 packs in a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support of 68W. As per the claims, with the fast charging support, the device can juice up to 100% in just 35 minutes.
Moto Edge X30- Price and Availability
As per the official announcement on December 9, Moto Edge X30 will be available for launch starting December 15 in China. The starting price of the device in China is CNY 3,999 for the 8/128GB variant. The Special Edition Moto Edge X30 will be available in only one configuration of 12/256GB at CNY 3,999. So, if the device launches in Nepal, we can expect the price of Moto Edge X30 to start at NPR 62,000.
