Redmi Note 10S Vs. Realme 8- Overview
Display and Design
Starting with Display, the Redmi Note 10S comes with a 6.43 inches AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Realme 8 features a similar 6.4-inch Display and FHD+ resolution but with a Super AMOLED Panel. Both the phones have a Similar 60Hz display with HDR 10 support and a similar PPI density. Realme 8 is a bit of a turn-off with no Gorilla Glass protection, whereas Note 10S is protected with a Gorilla Glass 3 on the front.
The phones come with similar dimensions with a similar weight, but in the built and design part, Redmi Note 10S outshines the Realme 8. Unlike the Realme 8 with no IP rating, the Note 10S comes with IP53 dust and splash resistance. Realme 8 also misses out on the Glass rear with a plastic back. The phones are built in a plastic frame, and talking about the fingerprint scanner, Realme 8 has an under-display fingerprint scanner, whereas Note 10S has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
CameraÂ
Moving on to the optics, both the phones come with a similar camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor followed by an 8 MP ultra-wide and 2MP Macro lens. But the last sensor is different on the two phones, with Note 10S having a 2MP depth sensor and Realme 8 having a 2 MP B&W lens. Comparing the camera performance, both the phones have a similar performance bringing out excellent camera performance, but considering the price range, Realme 8 could have done better. Realme 8 and Redmi Note 10S can shoot videos up to 4k at 30fps, 1080p at 30,60, and 120fps, but with gyro-EIS, Realme 8 is a better phone you’re looking for good video performance as well.
On to the front, the Realme 8 has a better camera setup with a 16MP wide selfie camera that can shoot videos up to 1080p at 30/120 fps with gyro-EIS. The Redmi Note 10S has a 13MP wide selfie camera that can only shoot video up to 1080p at 30fps with no stabilization.
Performance and Battery
Despite the price, both the phones perform with the same chipset, Helio G95. The chipset is a gaming focus chipset from Helio for mid-range phones. The phones handle most games at lower graphic settings, but going through your daily tasks will be an easy job.Â
Another similarity is the 5000 mAh battery in both phones, but Redmi has made it slightly better than the Realme with a 33W charger in the Note 10S than the 30W in the Realme 8. But you won’t get a significant difference in the 3W difference, just a few minutes difference in charging. But considering the price, 33W sounds a lot better than the 30W fast charging.
