Nvidia has Silently announced its new GeForce RTX 2050 for gaming laptops and MX550, MX570 for budget laptops. The RTX 2050 is the latest 20 series graphics which has a number of cores similar to that of the 30 series. In addition to the RTX 2050, Nvidia also announced the entry-level MX550 and MX570 laptop chips, but the company hasn’t provided many details about their specs. Nvidia vaguely mentions “more CUDA Cores” and “faster memory speeds” with no solid numbers to back it up just yet. Let’s move on to the specification and price of the NVIDIA Graphics Card in Nepal.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Overview:
The latest 20 series RTX 2050 is based on the new architecture. It is similar to the RTX 3050 series. The RTX 2050 uses the same chip as that of the 3050 but has added some restrictions to meet the lower price point. Furthermore, the memory bus on the RTX 2050 is half the width of that of RTX 3050 (64-bit < 128-bit). NVIDIA has disabled half memory controllers of the GA107 chip for a 64-bit memory bus. It connects to 4GB of 14Gbps GDDR6 VRAM with effective bandwidth of 112GB per second, which is also half of what RTX 3050 offers.
Also, NVIDIA has made it clear that laptops also need to have CPUs with dedicated integrated GPU (iGPU) to be able to use RTX 2050. It’s because RTX 2050 doesn’t come with any display output, and it will have to rely on the integrated GPU for display output. The configurable TDP for this GPU is between 30W and 45W. Prior to this, this kind of TDP requirement was reserved for the MX-series of GPUs. Thus, we are more likely to see RTX 2050 in laptops with a relatively smaller battery and limited chassis space. It also requires less power.

MX550 and MX570 Overview
Compared to the RTX 2050, NVIDIA’s new entry-level laptop GPUs are decidedly more traditional. NVIDIA’s MX series of laptop GPUs take up the very bottom of NVIDIA’s product stack and are the first step above integrated graphics in most laptop designs. These parts are also commonly used for adding GPUs to thin and light laptops, given the relatively small sizes of the chips used, as well as their low TDPs.
MX550 and MX570 Availability
NVIDIA has announced that the new MX500 series is a lot faster than the previous MX models. But, they have not yet announced the specifications yet. So, we can predict that they feature more than 10Gbps GDDR6 memory since MX450 features 10Gbps GDDR6 memory. Past that, NVIDIA is offering no further details. The MX series is not sold on the basis of features, and NVIDIA is offering no indication that the Ampere-based MX570 has any of its advanced features enabled, such as the RT or tensor cores. For all practical purposes, it’s functionally closer to a feature level 12_1 SKU, rather than 12_2/DirectXU.
