Recently, there have been talks about the latest devices in the smartphone market. Among the latest smartphones launched, POCO F3 is one of them. The device has shown outstanding performance mostly while gaming and other heavy uses. I have used the POCO F3 for a week, and I will be giving my full review regarding this device, so let’s head into the article.
POCO F3 full review
Gorilla Glass 5 on Both SidesÂ
The POCO F3 comes in a different design than its previous model POCO F2 Pro. The phone has a smooth design at the back, is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, and is well designed as it looks classic with a triple camera setup. Overall, the back looks neat enough to draw the attention of users. One annoying thing about the design is the camera bump, as it is bigger than expected. The big bump made me worry a bit as it had chances to get scratched. So I’d suggest not to use the device without its case.
Talking about its built quality, the device is protected by corning Gorilla Glass 5 at both front and back, and the frame is made of plastic. Talking about finishing, the rear has blended well with the frame, whereas I felt the screen did not blend well with the frame. The phone weighs 196g with 7.8mm thickness. Overall, the device feels light and is thin. The phone comes with an IP53 dust/splash rating.
120Hz Smoothness
POCO has done an outstanding job talking about the display this time as the POCO F3 is featured with a 120Hz refresh rate with a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The display is smooth as it has a 120Hz refresh rate. The POCO F3 is clearly the successor for its previous model POCO F3 as it exceeds every need in terms of display.
The POCO F3 comes in a 6.67 inches AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, also featuring peak brightness up to 1300 nits allowing you to use the device under sunlight without any problem.
Overall, the 120Hz AMOLED display gives a great experience while using the device.
Flagship Performance with Snapdragon 870G
POCO has improved the performance part as well. The device is featured with a Snapdragon 870 processor built under a 7nm chipset. The 7nm chipset is featured with an octa-core processor with one Kryo 585 clocked at 3.2 GHz, three Kryo 585 clocked at 2.42 GHz, and four Kryo 585 clocked at 1.80 GHz. The 870 processor shows impressive performance as it gives a smooth experience while gaming also.Â
I played games like PUBG, and in conclusion, the games run smoothly without a significant drop in frame rate. The system also maintains the heat of the device. As I played games without any use of fans, the maximum temperature reached was 49 degrees celsius.
Talking about the benchmark scores on Geekbench, the phone scored 594 on single-core and 2733 on multi-core. Whereas on Antutu, the device scored a benchmark of 56,3468.
Concluding the topic, as a mid-range device, POCO F3 shows impressive performance. The display gives satisfying results as it features a 120Hz refresh with a 360 touch sampling rate. With the touch response so good, I didn’t have any problem regarding the display. Also, while gaming, you’ll experience excellent performance. Here, the only thing that is missing is the 90fps.
Decent 48Mp Triple CameraÂ
The POCO F3 comes with a triple camera setup, with the main camera being 48MP, f/1.8 aperture. The camera is the only thing that is disappointing as the previous model came with a 64MP main camera. However, the camera of POCO F3 gives impressive results. I clicked some photos in the daylight that went quite well. Likewise, there is an 8MP, f/2.2 aperture ultrawide camera with an angle view of 119˚. Completing the setup, there is a 5MP, f/2.4 aperture macro camera, which I honestly didn’t find useful. The portrait shots on POCO F3 are also decent, but it came out quite well than expected.
The 48MP camera gives a decent performance and is not that different from the normal camera. On the other hand, the HDR mode clicks photos giving more details and helps a lot in shadow separations. Likewise, the POCO F3 can shoot videos up to 4K@30fps, giving high-quality videos. While taking videos, the coloring is clearly seen, and video stability is also convincing for the price range.
Talking about the front camera, there is a 20MP, f/2.5 aperture camera in a punch-hole design. Here, the selfie camera gave a nice impression to me. The photos clicked by the front camera came quite well and were surely detailed. As you can see, some of the photos taken by the camera are very nice with a well-focused portrait mode.Â
Overall, the camera is great for its price range. Impressive photos can be taken during daylight. However, while taking photos in the dark, you might see noise in the photos.
All-day battery with below 1 Hr Charging
Moving on to the battery, the device features a 4520 mAh battery. With the Snapdragon 870 processor, the battery efficiency of the phone also has gone significantly better. The battery will last for days as it has an outstanding battery endurance rating of 114 hours. You can play games for 4-5 hours without worrying about charging your phone. Talking about the charger, POCO F3 features a 33W fast charger filling the battery in less than an hour.Â

Overall, Poco F3 is a great value-for-money smartphone in the market under Rs.50000 price segment. It offers unbeatable performance for the price, a great display, good battery life, and a capable 48MP main camera. Although, it is not perfect either. Besides the main camera, we found rest of the cameras offers mediocre picture quality.
