POCO Nepal has launched the POCO M3 finally in Nepal. Poco Nepal is going ham with launching Poco X3 Pro, Poco F3, and Poco M3 now. This is their successor to the infamous POCO M2. But it is quite disappointing that the phone is launching late in Nepal when the Poco M3 Pro has been launched globally. Let’s see what POCO M3 has to offer and also the price of POCO M3 in Nepal.
Design & Display
Just like every other entry-level device, POCO M3 comes with an all-plastic body and plastic frame. At the back, we see something new this time. Here we have two finishes. The camera part has a black finish which houses the triple camera setup, and the rest is a lecture-like plastic texture back. While at the front, we have a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with up to 400 nits of max brightness. The display is also protected by the Gorilla Glass 3 has a dew-drop notch at the top to house the front camera. We get a fingerprint sensor at the power button, get IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dual sim tray with a dedicated micro-SD card slot. On top of all, we also get a dual speaker setup here.
Optics
POCO M3 comes with a 48MP f/1.8 primary camera along with a 2MP f/2.4 Macro camera and 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor for portrait shots, making this a triple camera setup. It would have been great to get a good ultra-wide than a macro lens. While at the front, we have an 8 MP f/2.1 selfie shooter. POCO M3 seems a good camera for an entry-level device on paper. We get all the fancy features like HDR, AI mode, Night Mode, and much more. The device can record 1080P video at 30fps from both the front and rear cameras. We have to see how it performs in real life as soon as we get it in Nepal.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, POCO M3 comes with the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC. It is an octa-core chip with 4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver cores. It is built on 11nm fabrication technology. While for the GPU, we have Adeno 610. Along with this, we get 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM coupled up with 64GB UFS 2.1 or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
One of the major USP of the device is its 6000mAh large battery. Even after having this large battery, POCO has managed to keep the weight of the battery under 200g at 198g. This battery also supports 18W quick charging, and the charger is provided in the box.
POCO M3 comes with Android 10 out of the box and runs MIUI 12 custom skin on the top with the POCO launcher.
