Purple Assecories in the Nepali market are quite loved and gaining popularity lately. It is worth mentioning that Purple is a Nepali brand that belongs to IoT Corporation, a sister company of Vatsal Impex, the official distributor of Xiaomi in Nepal.
The Purple PEB-004 is currently available in a white color variant and is priced at Rs. 3,299. This pair of wireless earbuds falls into the budget-friendly category and offers Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Here, we will assess whether the Purple PEB-004 provides good value for its price.
Purple PEB 004 Full Review:
Design
The Purple PEB 004 earbuds are housed in a sleek plastic case that exudes a high-end aesthetic. The case boasts a glossy finish and showcases the elegant Purple logo, which is delicately etched in the center. Positioned just above the logo is an LED indicator.
Both the case and the earbuds themselves are compact and easily portable, fitting seamlessly into any pocket. The earbuds sport a small stem and feature a glossy finish that matches the case’s sophisticated look.
I discovered that these earbuds provide a comfortable fit for my ears, with no issues in terms of their snugness. Considering their affordable price point, the construction and durability of the PEB 004 earbuds are truly remarkable.
Connections- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3, SBC, AAC
The Purple PEB-004 employs Bluetooth 5.3 technology for establishing its wireless connections. The good news is that the connection remains incredibly stable, and I didn’t encounter any disruptions or dropouts during my usage.
However, it’s important to note that you can connect these earbuds to just one device at a time; there’s no support for multipoint connectivity. This means you’ll need to disconnect from one device before connecting to another.
Similarly, it possesses a rapid detection function that enables the earbud to automatically establish a connection with the paired device upon opening the case. The latency of these buds is relatively minimal. While there may be a slight delay when playing games, no delay occurs when watching videos.
Regarding audio codecs, the PEB-004 relies on SBC and AAC. These codecs are responsible for encoding and transmitting the audio signal from your device to the earbuds. SBC is a standard codec, while AAC is known for its ability to deliver high-quality audio, especially for Apple devices. So, in terms of connectivity and audio quality, the PEB-004 offers a stable experience with support for widely used codecs.

Controls
- Capacitive touch controls
The earbuds are equipped with capacitive touch controls, which are highly responsive and user-friendly. These controls allow you to manage your audio experience with ease.
With a single tap on either earbud, you can play or pause your music or media. If you want to skip to the next track or go back to the previous one, simply perform a quick triple tap.
Adjusting the volume is straightforward too, a double tap on either earbud lets you control the volume to your liking. Additionally, if you need assistance or want to interact with your device’s voice assistant, a long press on either earbud will activate it.
Audio and Mic.
- Audio Driver: 13mm
The Purple PEB 004 earbuds, like many others, have a strong emphasis on bass in their sound. This makes them appealing to the majority of consumers. However, if you are an audio enthusiast, you may have a different opinion.
If you enjoy listening to EDM, Trap, and Rap music, you will find the sound quality of these earbuds to be satisfactory given their price. However, the bass lacks tightness, so if you listen to songs at maximum volume, you may experience ear fatigue.
When it comes to the microphones, each earbud is equipped with two. The call quality is quite good, and the person on the other end of the line can hear our voice clearly. Additionally, these earbuds do a decent job of reducing background noise in moderately crowded environments.
Battery and Charging
Battery Capacity: 50mAh (each earbud), 150mAh (charging case), up to 7 hours of playback
Despite their small size, the PEB-004 earbuds and case offer impressive battery life. The earbuds alone provide 7 hours of continuous playback, while when combined with the case, they can deliver a total of 24 hours of playback time.
When it comes to charging, it takes approximately 1 hour to fully charge the earbuds, and around 1.5 hours to fully charge the case from 0 to 100%.

Verdict
After conducting our evaluation, I found that the Purple PEB-004 showcases highly responsive capacitive touch controls, which make it effortless to manage audio playback and access voice assistants. The Bluetooth connection remains consistently stable, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted listening experience. However, it is important to keep in mind that these earbuds do not support multipoint connectivity.
Additionally, the earbuds utilize SBC and AAC audio codecs, which contribute to satisfactory audio quality. Despite being budget-friendly, these earbuds do come with certain limitations. For instance, they do not include high-end audio codecs such as aptX or LDAC.
To summarize, the Purple PEB-004 presents a cost-effective option for individuals in Nepal who are in search of wireless earbuds. These earbuds deliver stable performance, highly responsive touch controls, and satisfactory audio quality, all at an appealing price point. However, if advanced features or premium audio codecs are a requirement, it may be worth exploring other alternatives.
