Qualcomm may remain the 5G modem supplier for the upcoming iPhone 15 & iPhone 16

As we have previously heard a rumor, Apple is getting prepared to launch its 5G chip for the upcoming iPhone 15 & 16 models. But now a new report comes up and contradicts this, in which an Analyst named Jeff Pu declares Apple will still hang upon the Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G baseband modems for its new upcoming models until 2025.

The research done by Jeff Pu, who is an analyst at Hong Kong-based Haitong International securities has stated that iPhones that will be released in 2024 & 2025 will get snapdragon’s X70 & X75 modems.

The X75 is Qualcomm’s unannounced chip which is believed to get manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm architecture will feature enhanced power efficiency. Whereas, the X70 gives you the feature of improved AI potential, enhanced speed, coverage, better signal quality, and decreased latency. X75 will be a successor to its previously launched X70 chip. So, we can highly expect it will going to bring an improved and upgraded feature.

Meanwhile, other analysts on the market believe that Apple will continue to flourish with its 5G chip on the way. But still, there is no detail regarding when exactly this chip will get ready to be used on the iPhones.

At last, to sum up, Apple will retain the Snapdragon 5G modems for a minimum of two years and still keep on working to build up its 5G chip.
