Realme 7 vs Samsung Galaxy M31: Specs Comparison

We are almost at the end of 2020 and still devices are launching in a row. Though the year 2020 was a mess, for the Nepal mobile industry, we saw some great launches and competition. Brands like Realme and Samsung are launching devices at competitive pricing and we consumers are benefited because of their competition. Today, we will be comparing the newly launched Realme 7 with Samsung’s Galaxy M31. Let’s see which device provides better bang for your buck. Like both of them, provide 8GB of RAM and are priced almost similarly.

Realme 7 vs Samsung Galaxy M31

Design & Display

On the design front, both the device are having a plastic body with a plastic back. But the one on the Realme 7 looks much more premium due to its matt coating. Also, the design of the Realme 7 looks better because of the punch-hole display at the front and fingerprint sensor on the power button. Whereas the display of both devices is far apart from each other. On the Realme, you will get a 90Hz high refresh rate FHD+ display while Samsung will give you 60Hz Super AMOLED with those inky blacks and popping contrast. Performance & Software

For, the performance side of things. The 2.05Ghz Helio G95 on the Realme 7 will definitely perform better than the Exynos 9611 on the M31. Mediatek Helio G95 is an Octa-core SoC with 2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores and Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. Though the M31 is not a bad performing device. It has Exynos 9611 (10nm), with 4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 and Mali-G72 MP3. We get UFS 2.1 on both the devices along with 8GB RAM.

Talking about the software, we get ONE UI 2.5 on the Samsung Galaxy M31 on top of Android 10. Whereas Realme 7 has its own Realme UI, also running on top of Android 10.

Optics

We get a quad-camera setup on both, Realme 7 and Samsung Galaxy M31. On the Realme 7, we get a 64MP f/1.8, IMX 682 Sony sensor along with an 8 MP f/2.3, 119˚ ultra-wide camera. While the rest of the two are a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor and a macro camera. While at the front we get a 16MP f/2.1 selfie shooter.

On the Samsung Galaxy M31, we get 64 MP f/1.8, Primar shooter, an 8 MP f/2.2, 123˚ ultrawide lens, and  5 MP, f/2.4, (macro camera with 5 MP f/2.2, depth sensor. While at the front we have a 32MP f/2.0 front camera with support for 4K video recording. Both the devices have a promising camera setup and you won’t be disappointed choosing anyone, for the camera.

Battery

Here, Samsung Galaxy M31 has a large 6000mAh battery but it takes more than two and a half hours to fully charge the device as it only has support for 15W charging. While the Realme 7 provides a 5000mAh battery, here the better part is that you can fully charge the battery on the Realme 7 from 0-100 in almost one hour and 15 min as it has support for 30W Dart charging, and the charger is provided in the box. Samsung M31 might last more with its bigger battery, 10nm SoC, and an AMOLED display but, I would always choose a 30W dart charge above that cause, I don’t want to spend hours near the plug to charge my device.

Pricing

Realme 7 is launched in Nepal, at a price of Rs.35,990/- for the 8GB+128GB variant, cause it’s the only variant launched in Nepal. Whereas you can get the 8GB+128GB variant of Galaxy M31 for Rs.34,999. Both the devices are readily available across online and offline retailers.
