Realme has launched two more devices under its 9 number series in India. Today in their number series, we saw Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 5G SE. The SE here stands for Special edition. Realme 9 5G SE Overview
Design and Display
Realme 9 5G SE features a plastic build but has a nano texture design at the back which Realme likes to call Starlight texture. At the back, we get a triple camera setup with a LED flash inside a rectangular camera module and we have a real logo at the bottom. The device supports a Dual SIM card with a dedicated slot for memory expansion.
At the front, we are treated with a 6.6-inches FHD+ IPS LCD display. This is a 144Hz panel with a variable refresh rate. The display is rated for 600nits of maximum brightness and a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels.
Camera
In the optics department, Realme 9 5G SE is not something where it shines. Here we get a Triple camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 Primary Camera along with a 2MP depth and macro sensor. While at the front we get a 16MP shooter with an f/2.1 aperture. In the video department, the device is able to capture 4K and FHD videos upto 30fps and the front one caps out at 1080P 30fps.
Performance & Software
This is the department where the Realme 9 5G SE caters the most. The device is powered by one of the most popular upper mid-range SoC from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 778 5G. This is an octa-core SoC with 4×2.4 GHz Kryo 670 & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo 670 CPU cores and Adreno 642L GPU. This 6n SoC is powerful and efficient at the same time. Along with this, we get 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. We have already seen this SoC in devices like Honor 60 Pro, and Samsung’s own A52s 5G.
Talking about the software of the Realme 9 5G SE, the device still launched with Android 11 which is a bit disappointing. Along with that, we get Realme UI 2.0 on top.
Battery and Other Specifications
Realme 9 5G SE has a 5000mAh battery and supports 30W Dart fast charging and the fast charger is provided in the box. The device supports WiFi 6 along with Bluetooth 5.2. Talking about the sensors we get Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass sensor.
