Design & Display
While looking at the front, both the device looks similar, with almost the same size display and a drop notch for a front camera. But talking about the display protection we get Gorilla Glass 3 on Redmi 9 whereas the protection in the Realme C15 is also a Gorilla Glass but the version is not stated.
Not only the protection but also the resolution in Redmi 9 is better as it is an FHD+ panel compared to only HD+ on Realme C15. We have a fingerprint sensor on the back of both the devices but the camera placement is totally different. One more thing to be noted is Realme still has micro-USB while Redmi 9 features a Type-C port.
Performance & Software
In the Redmi 9, we get Mediatek Helio G80 (12 nm) its an Octa-core SoC with 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 configuration with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. While with Realme we are getting Mediatek Helio G35 (12 nm). This is a with Octa-core chipset with 4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 configuration along with PowerVR GE8320.
Here, Redmi 9 is a clear winner. Helio G80 is a far more powerful SoC than the Helio G35. Though the G35 is not very bad either. It can easily handle your regular task with lite gaming. Talking about RAM we get 3GB and 4GB variant of Redmi 9 while only a 4GB RAM variant of Reale C15 has been launched in Nepal. While for software both run on Android 10, while Redmi 9 has MIUI 12 on top and Realme C15 has Realme UI 1.0.
Optics
We see some similar specs here. On Redmi 9 we get a Quad camera setup with a 13MP f/2.2 Primary Camera along with an 8MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide camera. Here we also get a 5MP f/2.4 Macro lens and the last one is a 2MP depth sensor. While at the front it has an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. On the Realme side of things, we have a 13MP f/2.2 primary camera, 8MP f/2.3 Ultrawide. While the last two are 2MP each Monochrome and Macro camera.
At the front, it has an 8MP f/2.0 camera. Here both the camera are good for regular shots and your social media uploads. Here Redmi 9 might have an advantage due to its more powerful ISP and it already has a G-Cam apk available.
Battery
On the battery side, Realme C15 seems to win as it has a 6000mAh battery which supports 18W quick charging. On the other side, Redmi 9 also supports 18W charging but it has a 5020mAh battery, which is comparatively smaller and only comes with a 10W charger inside the box. While both the devices can easily last One and One and half-day, Realme might even stretch it till two days. While a bummer on Realme is that it uses an old micro-USB port compare to the newer and popular Type-C port used on Redmi 9.
Pricing
On the pricing front, you can get Realme C15 at Rs. 19,990/- for the 4GB+64GB variant and as of now that’s the only variant available in Nepal. Whereas you can get a 3GB+32GB variant of Redmi 9 for Rs. 16,999 and 4GB+64GB for Rs. 17,999/-.
