During the latest event in China, Xiaomi unveiled the first device of the ‘K50’ series that is the Redmi K50 Gaming. The K50 Gaming edition will be launching as the first flagship device of Xiaomi in 2022. In addition, the device has a special collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG F1 team. So, without any further delay, let’s look at the specs and features along with the expected Redmi K50 Gaming price in Nepal.
Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Overview:
Design and display:
Firstly, the Redmi K50 Gaming is featured with a large 6.67 inches AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate panel. The device also features a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. That is basically the same as its predecessor, Redmi K40 Gaming. Likewise, the K50 Gaming edition is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus at the front whereas, there is an aluminum frame with a glass back.
Moving on to the design, Redmi K50 Gaming is featured with a triple camera setup that is in a rectangular-shaped box. The camera frame has LED strips that light up in case of any notification. In addition, there is a standard Redmi logo at the bottom of the back panel. Lastly, there’s a pair of physical game triggers on the right-hand side.
Furthermore, there is also an AMG Petronas model of the K50 Gaming Edition. However, it does not differ much in terms of design. It has two stripes running through the middle of the rear panel while there’s also a Mercedes F1 logo in the top-right corner. Overall, it’s identical to the standard edition.
Performance:
Talking about the performance, Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is featured with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that is built under 4nm architecture. The 4nm chipset is featured with one Cortex-X2 clocked at 3.00 GHz, three Cortex-A710 clocked at 2.50 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 clocked at 1.80 GHz. Whereas, the graphics of the device is handled by Adreno 730. Further, the K50 Gaming features Android 12 software with MIUI 13 skin on top.
As for thermals, the company stated that the new K50 Gaming edition comes with a whole improved cooling system compared to the last year’s K40 Gaming edition.
Lastly, you can get the device in three storage variants: 128/8GB RAM, 128/12GB RAM, and 256/12GB RAM.
Camera:
Moving on to the camera, Redmi K50 Gaming comes with the same triple camera modules as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition but, due to the impact of the latest processor, you can surely get a better photo compared to the K40 Gaming edition. There is a 64 MP, f/1.7 aperture main camera. Similarly, supporting the main camera, there is an 8 MP, f/2.2 aperture ultrawide camera with an angle view of 120Ëš. Lastly, completing the triple camera setup, there is a 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture telemacro lens. The main camera can record videos up to 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, and 720p@960fps.
At the front, there is an improved 20 MP single selfie camera that can record videos up to 1080p@30/60fps and 720p@120fps.

Redmi K50 Gaming edition is featured with a 4700 mAh battery that is backed by massive 120W fast charging support. I believe the 120W fast charger will be provided with the box when it gets launched.
