Design and Display
Talking about the design, the Redmi Note 10S feels much better than the Samsung Galaxy A22 as it comes with 6.43 inches display protected by gorilla glass 3. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy A22’s plastic back and front, the Redmi Note 10S clearly wins in design. The device also has a clean back with a quad-camera setup at the back. Although both devices have the same battery, the Samsung Galaxy A22 weighs heavier than the Redmi Note 10S.
Moving on, Redmi Note 10S features an AMOLED screen display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Whereas Samsung Galaxy A22 features a Super AMOLED screen with a 90Hz screen, Samsung Galaxy A22 features 720 x 1600 pixels only with no Gorilla Glass protection, which is quite disappointing.
Camera and Software
The camera, Redmi Note 10S, features a quad-camera setup at the back with the main camera of 64 MP, f/1.8 aperture, and an 8MP, f/2.2 aperture ultrawide camera angle view of 118˚. Lastly, a 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture macro and 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture depth sensor camera. The camera on Redmi Note 10S looks decent as it has a 64MP main camera. Likewise, Samsung Galaxy also brings a quad-camera setup with the main camera being 48 MP, f/1.8 aperture which is also featured with OIS. It is quite impressive seeing an OIS camera in a budget device. The quad-camera setup features an 8 MP, f/2.2 aperture ultrawide camera with an angle view of 123˚. Finishing the setup, there is a 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture macro, and 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture depth sensor.
Talking about software, Redmi Note 10S features Android 11, MIUI 12.5 operating system whereas, Samsung Galaxy A22 features Android 11, One UI Core 3.1 operating system. Galaxy A22 obviously provides a better software experience with the One UI Core 3.1, whereas the MIUI 12.5 isn’t certainly the best UI out there with ads and many bloatware.
Performance and Battery
Talking about performance, Redmi Note 10S beats Samsung Galaxy A22 as it is featured with a better Mediatek Helio G95 processor built under 12nm architecture. The 12nm chipset features an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0 GHz. Whereas, Samsung Galaxy A22 is featured with Mediatek Helio G80 built under 12nm architecture. The 12nm chipset is based on an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 clocked at 2.0 GHz, and six 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 clocked at 1.8 GHz. Both the phones support decent gaming at lower graphic settings but going through the routine tasks won’t be a difficulty.
As for battery comparison, both the device features 5000mAh battery. However, Redmi Note 10S supports 33W fast charger whereas, Samsung Galaxy A22 features a 15W fast charging.
