Realme 9 has been launched in Nepal with some minor changes over its predecessor. It has been priced against the Redmi Note 11s. Both devices come with a 108MP camera (different sensors), chipsets from different manufacturers, the same-sized batteries, and so on. Redmi Note 11s vs Realme 9
Design and Display
Let’s start with the display. Redmi Note 11s packs a marginally large 6.43-inch AMOLED display over 6.4-inch Super AMOLED on the Realme 9. Both panels support up to 90Hz refresh rate but the touch sampling rate on the Realme 9 can go up to 360Hz while the Note 11s supports up to 180Hz only. Likewise, 1000 nits are the peak brightness on both displays. Realme 9 takes advantage of the display protection as it has Gorilla Glass 5 while the Note 11s is featured with Gorilla Glass 3.
Both devices come with a plastic back along with a plastic frame. The Redmi Note 11s comes with an official IP53 rating making it dust and splash resistant. On the other hand, Realme 9 doesn’t bring any official IP rating. Likewise, you get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Note 11s while the Realme 9 is equipped with the under-display fingerprint sensor.
Camera
Talking about the camera, the Redmi Note 11s is featured with a quad-camera setup while the Realme 9 has a triple camera array. The primary camera on these devices is 108MP but the Realme 9 has an improved sensor with a larger aperture (f/1.8 over f/1.9). Likewise, there is an 8MP ultrawide lens on both devices but you get a slightly larger field of view on the Realme 9. At last, the Redmi Note 11s gets a pair of 2MP macro and depth cameras whereas the Realme 9 has a 2MP macro sensor.
On the front, both devices share the same 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.5 aperture. Talking about the video capturing ability, you can record up to 1080p@30fps from both rear and front cameras with these devices.
Performance
Redmi Note 11s is powered by MediaTek Helio G96 chipset while the Realme 9 is powered by Snapdragon 480 chipset. Helio G96 chipset is based on 12nm architecture and the SD 480 is built under 6nm architecture. If you want a phone for gaming then you should be looking at the Note 11s as it has better CPU and GPU performance but the Realme 9 has better battery endurance with its efficient chipset.
Both devices are available with 6/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM paired with 128GB UFS 2.2. You get a dedicated MicroSD card slot on these two devices. On the software side, Realme 9 ships with the latest Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 out of the box while the Redmi Note 11s runs on Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top.
Other Features
Fueling both devices is a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. Similarly, the Redmi Note 11s has a stereo speaker while the Realme 8 only has a single speaker.

The 6/128GB variant of the Redmi Note 11s costs NPR 30,999 making it the best smartphone under 30000 in Nepal while the Realme 9 is priced at NPR 31,499 for the 6/128GB model. Likewise, the 8/128GB models of the Redmi Note 11s and Realme 9 retail at NPR 32,999 and NPR 33,499 respectively.
