We have seen Xiaomi and Realme having a healthy comparison between both in the Indian market. The rivalry between both has resulted in benefiting the consumers. Now slowly as Realme is established in Nepal, we could see something similar. With their latest launch of Realme 6 and 6i, Realme has shown that they are taking the Nepali market seriously.

Realme 6 will be a direct competitor for the Redmi Note 9 Pro as there is not much of a price difference between the both and Realme also offers few extra features that Redmi Note 9 Pro misses. So today let’s have a specs comparison between both of these devices along with their Pros and Cons.

Design & Display

Talking about the design of both the devices, Redmi Note 9 Pro is an all-glass front and back device, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. This results in making a device quite over 200gm. At the back, it has a quad-camera setup in the middle while talking about the front we get a central cut out for the selfie shooter. While on Realme we have a plastic back and same old Realme Camera design, with all four cameras standing vertically on the left side.

At the front we get a punch hole for the selfie shooter on the top left corner. Talking about the front, Realme me excels here with its 6.5-inch display with the refresh rate of 90Hz. It will definitely look and feel smoother than the 6.67-inch 60Hz panel on the Redmi Note 9. While the Redmi Note 9 Pro’s display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Realme has older Gorilla Glass 3.

Performance and Software

Here Redmi Note 9 Pro uses Snapdragon 720G along with Adreno 618 GPU. This SoC is manufactured under 7nm FinFet technology. This results in great performance without sucking up more power. While the Realme 6 uses Helio G90T with Mali-G76 MC4 for the GPU. It is a 12nm chip and was also used in Redmi Note 8 Pro last year. Still Helio G90T is a very powerful Mid-range chip.

Helio G90T along with a 90Hz display can produce some seriously smooth performance on Realme 6. Both can handle day-to-day tasks like a champ. Even gaming can’t be a problem for any of them. Talking about the Software Redmi Note 9 Pro ships with MIUI 11 whereas  Relame has its own Realme UI. Both come with Android 10 out of the box.

Optics

In the camera department, we can see a Quad Camera set-up on both of these devices. Redmi Note 9 Pro packs a 48MP Sony sensor, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. On the other hand, Realme 6 comes with 64MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP B/W Depth lenses. During daylight, these can produce some great shots for your social media uploads.

At the front, we get a 16MP shooter on both, where Realme has a much larger 2.0 aperture. Both devices and records up to 4K 30fps with their primary shooter. Here Redmi Note 9 Pro can also go up to 960fps at 720 for those slo-mo shots. We get all the regular software features such as HDR, Panorama, and Night Mode with both the devices.

Battery

As Redmi has a bigger battery Redmi should be a winner. Is it? Here we have a mixed bag of things. Though Redmi packs a larger 5020mAh battery, it is restricted to 18W charging capacity. Whereas 4300mAh battery of Realme can be charged at whooping 30W.

With larger battery capacity and power-efficient, 7nm Chipset on the Redmi Note 9 can easily last longer compared to Realme 6. While on the Realme 6 side of things, 12nm SoC and 90Hz display can suck up more battery, but you can charge 0-100% in just 55 minutes.

Pricing

The recently launched Realme 6 has been priced at Rs.33,990 for its 8GB+128GB variant. As of now, it’s the only variant available here in Nepal. While you can get a 6GB+128GB variant of Note 9 Pro for Rs.29,999.
