Design and Display

When it comes to A21s, Samsung is betting it’s money on its design, because except a Punch hole camera and a Sleek Plastic body design there’s nothing you can praise. It has a TFT Display at HD+ resolution with a size of 6.5 inches. You can pick out the pixels while using this device. On the other side, the cheaper M21 comes with a Super Amoled display with a dewdrop notch with an FHD+ resolution.

While talking about the back of both the devices, both are made up of plastic. Here A21s has a Quad camera set-up whereas M21 has a triple camera set-up. Despite having a notch, the M21 has a higher screen to body ratio.

Performance and Software

Samsung mid-rangers with Exynos processors is not known for better performance. Here on Galaxy A21s, we get a new Exynos 850 SoC. It’s based on an 8nm manufacturing process which makes it a bit more efficient than the Galaxy M21 which has Exynos 9611  based on a 10nm finfet process.

Though this new processor doesn’t really perform better than the Exynos 9611. Let it be CPU or GPU performance, in most cases, M21 will perform better. Both are octa-core chips. While the Exynos 850 is clocked at 2.0GHz max whereas Exynos 9611 can go up to 2.3Ghz.

Talking about the software, both of the devices are running on Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10.

Optics

Comparing both the devices, we were able to see some little differences in the Camera department. Starting with A21s, it comes with a Quad Camera set-up and the back with a 48MP f/2.0 lens along with an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and 2MP each macro and depth sensor. Whereas at the front we get a 13MP f/2.2  shooter. This camera can take acceptable shots on day time with optimum lighting but when it comes to low light shots, it’s just not so good.

While for videos it can only record up to 1080P at 30fps from both front and back cameras. Whereas M21 has a triple camera set-up with a similar primary camera along with 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and a better 5MP depth sensor. This sensor can take 4K videos at 30fps and also has gyro-EIS enabled. While at the front we get a 20MP f/2.0 camera with HDR support for photos.

Battery

When it comes to battery, M21 again takes the lead here with a 6000mAh battery compared to 5000 on A21s. Though the battery life might not be very different cause A21s has a more efficient chip and only an HD+ display where has M21 has an Amoled display. Talking about the charging speeds both can be topped up with a 15W quick charge.

Pricing

Here in Nepal the newly launched Galaxy A21s has been priced at Rs.24,999 for a 4GB+64GB variant. Whereas you can get a 4GB+64GB variant of Galaxy M21 for Rs.23,999 and a higher 6GB+128GB variant for Rs.27,499.
