Samsung‘s One UI software has become widely popular these days with its reliability and stability on Samsung smartphones. The Andriod 13 OS for Samsung devices used One UI 5 whereas now with Android 14 officially announced Samsung also unveiled One UI 6. Samsung Android 14 + One UI 6
The Beta version of One UI 6 had been around for quite some time whereas recently Samsung unveiled its new One UI 6 after Google announced Andriod 14 publicly. The One UI 6 was one of the major announcements of Samsung SDC23 (Samsung Developer Conference 2023). According to Samsung the One UI 6 will focus on enhanced usability and intelligent photo and video editing. Such as the gallery app will analyze photos using AI features like photo Remaster and object eraser and will suggest options to improve the images. Likewise, Samsung also talked about a new multi-layer video editor tool Samsung Studio with options to add text, stickers, and music to a video timeline.
Similarly, Samsung Health will also be expanded into a digital health ecosystem. The source also mentions Samsung’s open access to the BioActive sensor on Galaxy smartwatches to third-party developers via Samsung Privileged Health SDK.
Samsung Andriod 14 + One UI 6 New Updates
Samsung has officially listed 30+ updates on One UI 6 (Andriod 14) which include customization, multi-tasking, improvement in cameras, health features, digital well-being, and more. As the list of the updates will be too long we have only included major updates to one UI 6.
Quick Panel
Now the quick panel has an option for a new button layout that makes it easier to access the features you use the most with their now-dedicated button at the top of the screen. Likewise, you can access the brightness control quickly as now it appears in the compact panel when you swipe down. Now you can instantly access the full quick panel by enabling Quick setting instant access where you can expand the quick panel by swiping just one from right and swiping down from left to open notifications.
Home Screen and Lock Screen
The icon labels have been simplified for a cleaner and simpler look while now you can also drag and drop icons or widgets with 2 hands. Whereas if you use gesture navigation you can set the taskbar to hide automatically. For the Lock screen now you have more freedom to move your clock around to the position of your choice.
Typeface
Samsung has also introduced a new default font for One UI 6 with a more stylish and modern feel.
Camera
Camera One UI 6 comes with a handful of updates from a simplified camera app layout, more options for watermark alignment, quick access to resolution settings, and enhanced video size selection with a pop-up to view all the options. Moreover, the camera also gets a quality optimization feature where you can choose from 3 different optimization levels, an auto FPS option for video to record brighter video in low light conditions, and more.
Photo Editor and Studio (Video Editor)
The photo editor has a new tools menu, making it easier to find the editing features. You now have an option to undo and redo transformation, filters, and tones whereas you can also make changes to drawings, stickers, and text even after the photo is saved. Likewise, when creating custom stickers you can use drawing tools to make your stickers even more personal.
One UI 6 also introduces Studio a new project-based video editor for more complex and powerful editing.
Settings
On settings, One UI 6 brings a few new features such as smart airplane mode where if you turn on wifi or Bluetooth your phone will remember the next time you use it. Whereas the battery settings now have their own top-level setting menu so you can check your battery usage and manage battery settings. Likewise, the auto blocker settings prevent unknown apps from being installed check for malware, and block malicious commands from being sent to your phone using a USB cable.

Samsung is the only smartphone brand in the Android segment to give 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches on flagship devices. Whereas now Samsung is also expanding its software update support to high-end smartphones and mid-range with the same 4-year OS update and 5-year security patches.
