OnePlus 9 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21- Overview

Design and Display

Talking about the OnePlus 9, it comes with 6.55 inches Fluid AMOLED screen along with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 pixels. Likewise, it has a premium look with a triple camera setup at the back, which comes in a rectangular box. At the front, there is a selfie camera in a punch-hole design. Weighing around 192g, the device is quite light with an 8.7mm thickness. The device also has an IP68 rating.

Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with 6.2 inches dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz refresh rate display along with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Further, it has a premium look with a triple camera setup at the back and a selfie camera in a punch-hole camera at the front. The device weighs around 171g which is lighter than the OnePlus 9 with a 7.9mm thickness. The device also has an IP68 dust/water resistance rating of up to 1.5m for 30 mins.

Performance

The Oneplus 9 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 built under 5nm architecture. The 5nm chipset is featured with an octa-core processor, which comes with one Kryo 680 clocked at 2.84 GHz, three Kryo 680 clocked at 2.42 GHz, and four Kryo 680 clocked at 1.80 GHz. Whereas Adreno 660 handles the graphics of the device. Lastly, the device is available in two storage variants: 128/8GB RAM and 256/12GB RAM.

Talking about Samsung Galaxy S21, the device is powered with Exynos 2100  built under 5nm architecture. The 5nm chipset is featured with an octa-core processor, which comes with one  Cortex-X1 clocked at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.80 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.2 GHz. At the same time, Mali-G78 MP14 handles the graphics of the device. The device is available in two storage variants: 128/8GB 8GB RAM, 256/8GB RAM. Exynos 2100 certainly seems better on paper, but you can’t really go wrong with any of those flagship chipsets when it comes to performance.

Camera and Battery

In the camera sector, it seems like both devices are quite tuff to be compared with each other. Firstly, the OnePlus 9 comes with a triple camera setup with the main camera of 48 MP, f/1.8 aperture. Supported with a 50 MP, f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide camera. Likewise, completing the setup, there is a 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture monochrome camera. The device allows you to record video up to 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60fps, and 1080p@30/60/240fps. Oneplus collaborated with Hasselblad to enhance the camera performance, still, the camera is a disappointment with no OIS or optical zoom.

Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is also featured with a triple camera setup where the main camera is 12 MP, f/1.8 aperture wide-angled. There is a 64 MP, f/2.0 aperture telephoto camera featuring OIS, 1.1x optical zoom, 3x hybrid zoom. There is another 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture 120Ëš ultrawide camera with Super Steady video, completing the setup. Samsung Galaxy S21 really is ahead by a huge margin with a better camera setup and especially the telephoto camera with OIS and optical and hybrid zoom.

Comparing the batteries of both devices, the OnePlus 9 is juiced up with a bigger 4500mAh battery and a Fast charging of 65W. Whereas, Samsung could have done a better job with a bigger battery and a faster charger than the 4000 mAh battery topped up with a 25W charging.

Pricing

Talking about the pricing, the OnePlus 9 price in Nepal is NPR 104,999 for the 12/256GB variant, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S21 is slightly expensive with a price of Rs.109,999 for 8/256GB, but with the differences, the price seems justifiable.
