Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+ Overview:
Design and Display:
Taking a first look at the new Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+, these tablets seem extremely similar to the Galaxy Tab S9. The Tab S9 FE has a single camera on the back, a camera in the front, a charging port for the S Pen, and flat sides all around. The dimensions of this device are 10.01 x 6.53 x 0.26in.
The Plus model is significantly larger, with dimensions of 11.24 x 7.30 x 0.26in. This model, unlike the Tab S9 FE, has two cameras in the rear and one in the front. Aside from that, it has the same S Pen location and flat sides all around.
On both tablets, the screen size is more than adequate. The Tab S9 FE has a 10.9-inch display, while the Tab S9 FE Plus has a 12.4-inch display. These are LCD displays, with the Tab S9 FE having a WUXGA+ (2,304 x 1,440) screen and the Plus having a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) screen. These devices’ displays can automatically adjust from 48Hz to 90Hz. These panels also include what Samsung calls Vision Booster, which automatically changes the screen brightness based on the light of your surroundings.
Performance:
The performance on these devices is also fairly decent. They both get Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chip. The Exynos CPU has a 2.4GHz maximum clock speed and an ARM Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. When compared to the Tab S7 FE, the Tab S9 FE has 38% better CPU performance and 73% better GPU performance.
For storage and RAM, the Tab S9 FE gets 6/8GB RAM with 128/256GB configuration and the plus variant gets 8/12GB with 128/256GB storage options. Similarly, both devices also support microSD (up to 1TB).
Camera:
In terms of camera specifications, the base model comes with an 8MP primary camera on the rear, while the front camera features a 12MP sensor, designed for ultrawide shots. In contrast, the Plus variant sports an 8MP primary rear camera and an additional 8MP ultrawide lens. Meanwhile, the front camera remains consistent with the base model, offering a 12MP ultrawide sensor.
Battery and other features:
When it comes to the battery, the Tab S9 FE is equipped with an 8,000mAh battery, while the Tab S9 FE Plus boasts a larger 10,090mAh battery. According to Samsung, these batteries are capable of delivering up to 20 hours of video playback. Both tablets utilize a USB-C cable for recharging, and thanks to Samsung’s Super Fast Charging technology, they claim you can achieve a complete charge in less than an hour and a half.
Both models also offer Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, and 5G capability on the 5G variant. The tablet’s power button also functions as a fingerprint sensor, ensuring that your device is always secure. Moreover, the Galaxy Tab S9 Fe also supports the S-Pen and book cover keyboard and touchpad.
