Surface detail of the upcoming Snapdragon 7 Gen 2

Qualcomm has already debuted its Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset which has been used in a couple of smartphones including the Oppo Reno 8 Pro. But now, the company is gearing up to launch the upgraded version of this chipset dubbed, Snapdragon 7 Gen 2. So, it’s normal to see leaks of its specifications on the market. Today a leakster named Roland Quandt disclosed some of the surface features of the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset on his official Twitter platform. So now, let’s dive into its specifications.

Specifications of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset (Rumors)

According to the leakster, this chipset has a model number: SM7475 and is designed in a tri-cluster way including one prime, three gold, and four silver cores. The prime core is believed to have a clock speed of 2.4GHz, the gold core also has the same clock speed of 2.4GHz, and the silver core gets a clock speed of 1.8GHz. This clock speed is same as of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

The leakster didn’t share any details regarding its hardware. However, being a new chipset, the market is expecting it will arrive with new core designs. That means Cortex A715 for Prime and Gold cores and A510 for Silver cores. Whereas, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 core has A710 & A510. This new chipset will come with an enhanced improvement in efficiency but with a smaller performance scale. 

Qualcomm snapdragon 2022 summit event is just over a month far from now. And this event will debut Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. However, it is highly expected that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 will get unveiled at the same time or at a separate venue. Let’s see what the qualcomm plans. Till then stay connected to us.
