Motorola has officially reentered the Nepali market with two of their new devices. The Moto G9 Play and Moto E7 Plus are launched at aggressive pricing. We recently had a comparison between Moto E7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy M11 as both are available at similar pricing, so do check that out. Whereas today, we are having a look at the Top 5 features of Moto G9 Plus, as it is among the contenders for the best smartphone under 20,000 in the Nepali market.
1) Clean Android
As we all know, currently Chinese smartphones are dominating all over the world and especially in the lower and budget category. Though they provide decent specs with that, we get their custom UI which is full of Ads and bloatware. But with the Moto G9 Play, we get a clean stock like android with no bloatware and ads throughout the UI. On top of that, we get special Moto features like chop-chop to turn on the flashlight or twist to open the camera and much more. So, Moto G9 Play comes with Android 10 out of the box which is a plus point for the device and might see an Android 11 update.
2) 48MP Camera setup
It’s quite rare to see a 48MP camera setup under the 20K price segment, so Moto is among the first to do so. Here we get a 48MP f/1.7 primary shooter along with a 2MP depth sensor for portrait images and also a 2MP macro shooter. Though the other 2MP macro sensor is like a gimmick though the Primary 48MP sensor with a large aperture looks promising. We also get a dedicated night mode on Moto G9 Play. Just stay tuned with us for a detailed review.
3) Snapdragon 662 CPU and Adreno 610 GPU
Snapdragon 662 is a new entry-level SoC from Qualcomm with Adreno 610 GPU. Moto G9 Play is the cheapest device to provide this SoC in Nepal. It’s an octa-core SoC with 4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver cores. This along with 4GB of RAM and clean software is indicating a smooth performance in the Moto G9 Play. So, with this SoC Moto is giving a good competition to Poco M2 and Redmi 9, as these devices fall under a similar price category here in Nepal.
4) Battery endurance
Moto G9 Play comes with a 5000mAh large battery and has support for 15W charging and we get a 20W turbocharge brick in the box. As Moto G9 Play has an HD+ display and snapdragon 662 is not very power-hungry SoC we could see an exceptional battery life on the Moto G9 Play. It’s nice to see that Moto is providing a fast charge brick in the box itself because it’s quite rare to see that on budget devices.
5) User Experience
Here, I am accounting user experience as a feature because Moto G9 packs lots of subtle things that are going to contribute towards a better user experience. Like including Stock Android, which means faster Android and security patch updates, including an ear-phone in the box, which is a small inclusion but makes up for a nice User experience. The next one is the inclusion of NFC which is quite rare in a budget device like this. Another one is camera features like Night Mode and RAW photo output, yes we know these are software features but there are rarely any devices that provide all of this in one package that too under 20K.
