Samsung Galaxy A72 has been launched in Nepal last week at the starting price tag of 51,999/- for an 8GB/128GB configuration. The Galaxy A72 packs some of the features which are rarely seen at this price point. This time Samsung went with Snapdragon 720G, though it’s not much different in performance than the Snapdragon 730G used in last year’s Galaxy A71, still there are few noticeable changes on the Galaxy A72 and in this article, we will be having a look at top 5 features of Samsung Galaxy A72.Â
1) 6.7-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED DisplayÂ
Samsung Galaxy A72 features a 6.7- inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz of refresh rate. We are glad to see Samsung going with a high-refresh-rate panel even in the premium mid-range segment. I have been using the A72 for the past few days and the display is really good, with those dark blacks levels and punchy colors and contrast. On top of that, the display also comes with Eye Comfort Shield 2, which helps to lower the harmful blue rays. The display can go up to 800-nits of brightness, so viewing under the sunlight won’t be a problem with this one.Â
2) 64 MP Quad-camera setup with OIS & 3X Optical Zoom
Samsung devices are always known to have a better camera than the device from the competition at a similar price point. On the Galaxy A72, we get a 64 MP primary shooter with f/1.8 large aperture, OIS and PDAF. Even the 8 MP f/2.4, 3X telephoto lens is optically stabilized. While the third one is the 12 MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide lens with a 123Ëš field of view and the last one is a 5MP f/2.4 macro shooter. This looks like a promising camera setup and lives up to the expectation considering its price.Â
For the videos, the Galaxy A72 can shoot up to 4K at 30 fps, from both front and rear, while the 1080P can go up to 60 on the rear side. The OIS helps in better-stabilized video and also brighter and blur-free, nighttime images.
3) Elegant design with IP67 Dust/waterproofingÂ
The reason for including design in the top 5 features is, I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy A72 as my primary device and despite having a large 6.7-inch display and a 5000mAh battery, the device didn’t feel heavy in my hands. The 203gm weight is excellently distributed in an 8.4 mm thin chassis. On top of that, the Galaxy A72 brings IP 67 rating and at this price point, it has never been seen before. This means the device can withstand the submersion in up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Also, the new colors with matt finish give a premium touch to the device.Â
4) Stereo Speakers
This is quite unusual from Samsung, we don’t see features like IP rating, OIS, and stereo speakers in the premium mid-range device but this time we got them all. Samsung Galaxy A72 features a stereo speaker setup, where we get a primary speaker at the bottom and the earpiece also acts as a secondary speaker making it a dual speaker, stereo experience. It results in much immersive experience while watching movies, consuming media, or even playing games in a large AMOLED with the stereo speaker setup.Â
5) Software ExperienceÂ
Samsung’s ONE UI is one of the most praised custom UI and people have seen Samsung’s UI grow a lot from past touch wiz days. The Galaxy A72 runs on One UI 3.1 on top of Android 11. Samsung’s ONE UI is one of the most optimized versions of Android, with better one-hand mode, system-wide dark mode, featured rich camera app, and regular updates and patches. Also, Samsung’s proprietary Knox security protects your phone from the minute it’s turned on. Offering multi-layered security, it defends your most sensitive information from malware and malicious threats.Â
