Upcoming iPad Models 2024:
Apple recently unveiled its latest lineup of iPad models after a two-year hiatus. Now, a recent leak suggests that it may be preparing to develop future models, including an iPad mini 7th generation and a base iPad 11th generation. According to identifiers discovered, the new iPad mini could be powered by the A17 chipset, the same one used in the iPhone 15 Pro models. The next generation of the base iPad might get an A16 chip.
A user named @aaronp613 on X (formerly Twitter) posted about 14 iPad models discovered through identifiers found by Nicolás Álvarez. Out of these, six models were reportedly scrapped by Apple. These include two A14 chip-powered base iPad models and four M3 chip-powered iPad Pro models in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. The latter models were released with an M4 chip at the ‘Let Loose’ event in May.
Future iPad Models
The leak suggests Apple may introduce up to eight new iPad models. One identifier is linked to a possible iPad 11th generation, which may feature Apple’s A16 SoC. This model is expected to be available in both Wi-Fi and Cellular versions.
Another identifier references an iPad mini 7th generation, potentially powered by the A17 Pro SoC, the same chipset used in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The current iPad mini was last updated in 2021, so a refresh is due.
Rumored iPad Pro Models
Even though Apple launched new iPad Pro models in May, rumors suggest the company is developing the next generation of the tablet. The new iPad Pro could be powered by an unannounced M5 chipset, possibly based on TSMC’s 2-nanometer fabrication process. These iPad Pro models are speculated to come in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes and be available in both Wi-Fi and Cellular configurations.
