Vivo Y53s – Overview
Vivo Y53s is the newest Y series smartphone introduced by Vivo. The Device is pretty decent in the mid-range category but the specs that it offers compared to its price range are a bit unsettling making it quite overpriced. Let’s dig into the specification and features of the Y53s along with their official price in Nepal.
Design and Display
The Y53s offers a triple camera set up at the back and whereas at the front we get a single selfie camera inside a teardrop notch. The device is 8.4mm thin and also comes with a dedicated memory card slot and a 3.5mm jack. At the front, we are treated with 6.58 inches of IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels. The refresh rate of the display is 60hz but at this price range, it should at least be 120Hz or 90Hz.
Performance
Vivo Y53s comes with MediaTek Helio G80 chipset and Mali-G52 MC2 with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage. It’s an Octa-core SoC with 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55. Helio G80 is already a year-old SoC and using it on a device at this price point, doesn’t justify it. It’s the same SoC that we got on last year’s Redmi 9, Poco M2, and other devices between 20,000 to 25,000. So, calling it “The most overpriced mid-range device” isn’t an overstatement.
Camera
Vivo Y53s offers a triple camera setup at the back, where the primary camera is 64 MP, f/1.8 with PDAF along with which we get a 2 MP, f/2.4 Macro lens, and 2 MP, f/2.4 depth sensor. The main camera can shoot up to 1080p@30fps. Talking about the front camera it houses a 16 MP, f/2.0 selfie shooter that can shoot up to 1080p@30fps.
Other features
Vivo Y53s comes with a huge Li-po 5000 mAh battery that also supports fast charging up to 33W. Talking about the software, it’s running on Android 11 with Funtouch 11.1 on top. We get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, Bluetooth 5.1, and all other necessary sensors.
