Xiaomi 12S Pro goes official in China with a 4nm SoC and Three 50MP Camera

Xiaomi 12S Pro is the third flagship smartphone in the Xiaomi 12S series. Along with Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Ultra, we got Xiaomi 12S Pro in yesterday’s event. The device is packed with the latest processor, 2K display, and more. In this article, let’s have a closer look at Xiaomi 12S Pro along with its specifications and features.  Design & Display 

Considering the looks, Xiaomi 12S Pro is just like any other Xiaomi device in the Xiaomi 12 series. You get a curved screen on the front with a frosted back and a vertical camera bump. But apart from the regular Xiaomi 12 here we also get a leather back finish on the back. On the front, we are treated with a gorgeous 6.73-inch 2K display with a resolution of 1400×3200 pixels. This is a 10Bit LTPO AMOLED display protected with Gorilla Glass Victus. The display supports 1500nits of maximum brightness and 1000nits of sustained brightness. 

Performance & Software

This is where the Xiaomi 12S Pro shines. The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This is the latest offering from Qualcomm, built under 4nm tech. Here we get 1×3.19 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3×2.75 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 CPU cores along with Adreno 730 GPU. On the memory front, we get 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. 

Xiaomi 12S Pro runs on Android 12 with MIUI 13 out of the box.

Camera 

On paper, Xiaomi 12S Pro features some of the best camera setups with triple 50MP sensor arrays. Here we get 50 MP, f/1.9, a primary sensor with Dual Pixel PDAF & OIS, a 50 MP, f/1.9, 50mm telephoto Zoom camera with PDAF, 2x optical zoom, and the last one is a 50 MP, f/2.2, 115˚ ultrawide camera. This time Xiaomi has collab with Leica to bring its color science to the Xiaomi cameras.
On the front, we get a 32MP sensor with an f/2.5 aperture. The sad part is, that video from the front camera caps out at 1080P 60 fps only, while the rear can go upto 8K video recording. 

Battery & Rest of the Specs 

Xiaomi 12S Pro is equipped with a 4600mAh cell and the best part is, that the device support 120W fast charging, which takes only 19 minutes for the device to charge fully. Not only that, but the device also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging to charge your accessories and other Qi-enabled devices. On the connectivity side, we get 5G, WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. The device features a stereo speaker tuned by Harman & Kardon.

Currently, Xiaomi 12S Pro has been launched in China and is available in four different storage configurations starting with 8/128GB at CNY 4,699. If launched in Nepal, we expect the price of Xiaomi 12S Pro in Nepal to start at NPR 95,000.
