With the rise in technology, e-sims demands are in hype nowadays. Different brands such as Samsung, Google, and Apple have already released phones supporting E-Sim whether globally or regionally. Recently, Xiaomi launched 12T pro, which brings up the popular e-SIM card support function. And it has succeeded to become the brand’s first device to support E-Sim globally.
The Xiaomi 12T pro-E-sim is supported by a limited number of carriers and availability may differ accordingly to country or region. The two sim card configurations of this smartphone are nano SIM + e-SIM and nano SIM + nano SIM. Whereas, currently the countries that are eligible to use E-sim are Germany, Italy, France, Japan, and Malaysia.
One thing to note here is the Redmi note 10T has also the E-sim feature but it is available only in Japan. Furthermore, there’s a rumor around the market that the Xiaomi 12 lite NE will also be going to feature the E-SIM.
Meanwhile, let me sum up what exactly an E-SIM is. E-Sim is a digital SIM that allows you to use a cellular plan from your carrier without using a physical SIM. There’s no need for you to order a new SIM, wait for it to get inserted and activated. Whereas, E-SIM is already built into your phone and you can directly switch to a network for a phone call.
