In recent times, Tablets are gaining more popularity after schools and offices had to do their work from home. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which was launched back in 2020, was loved and liked by many customers for its premium design, performance and battery. At the time, there was no tablet as good as the Galaxy Tab S6 at the price range. Nonetheless, Xiaomi has recently injected its new and advanced tablet into the market- Xiaomi Pad 5. The device flaunts a bigger display with vibrant colors and a smoother experience. However, the device lacks cellular service. Both the devices are great but with some flaws. Display
Xiaomi Pad 5 features a huge 11 inches IPS LCD with a refresh rate of 120Hz allowing the users to have a smooth display experience and a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, on the other hand, flaunts a 10.40-inches TFT display with a regular refresh rate of 60Hz and a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels. Besides, Xiaomi has given a major priority to its display as it has included different features in the display including 1Billion colors, HDR10 and Dolby Vision to enhance the user’s display experience. However, none of these features are available in the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Thus, undoubtedly, we can claim that Xiaomi Pad 5 is the fair winner in terms of display with its clearer, smoother and vibrant display compared to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.
Design
As for the design, both the devices have smoothly finished rear panels. Nonetheless, the camera makes all the difference, as Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has the sort of premium looks with a hint of minimalism while Xiaomi Pad 5 has a camera bump like that of a smartphone giving it a classier look. At the front, Xiaomi has comparatively slimmer bezels than the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. So, one can say, the Xiaomi Pad 5 has a trendier look compared to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.
Performance
Under the hood, Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 coupled with 6GB RAM. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, on the other hand, is powered by Exynos 9611 coupled with 4GB RAM. Different reviews and tests have proven that the Snapdragon 860 is more powerful and efficient at the same time compared to the Exynos 9611, which is relatively an older chipset. Furthermore, Xiaomi offers higher storage variants of 128GB and 256GB unlike the 64GB and 128GB storage variants of Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. So, why not opt for a higher storage and RAM variant tab with a better CPU at a cheaper price?
However, even though the performance and configurations of the device are much preferred, the device does not have cellular support. So, if you have to use cellular data or a sim, Xiaomi Pad 5 is not the one for you.
Camera and Battery
Talking about the camera, the Xiaomi Pad 5 features a 13MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera at the front. Likewise, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features an 8MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. Both the devices are decent enough for regular official and student works that require fewer photos and camera-related activities; however, if you have to, they can do the work as well.Â
Moving on to the battery, the Xiaomi Pad 5 packs a huge 8720mAh battery with fast charging support of 33W. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite packs a relatively smaller battery with the capacity of a 7040mAh battery with the 15W fast charging support. However, as the Pad 5 is larger than Tab S6 Lite, a relatively larger battery is a given. With a larger screen size and better performance, the battery may drain faster.Â
Price
Xiaomi Pad 5 is priced at NPR 44,999 for the 6/128GB configuration and NPR 49,999 for the 6/256GB configuration in Nepal. On the other hand, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available at the price of NPR 52,999 for the 4/64GB configuration. If you’re looking to buy a tablet, then it’s best to opt for Xiaomi Pad 5 as Xiaomi Pad 5 is a newly launched tablet with many advanced features and a bigger display at a relatively affordable price. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, on contrary, is an older model with a comparatively outdated chipset.
