Body and Built
First talking about the built quality of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad, it features an aluminum frame in contrast to the metal body in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 which makes Xiaomi Redmi pad lighter weighing 465 grams in comparison to Samsung Galaxy tab A8 weighing 508 grams.
Furthermore, though Samsung galaxy tab A8 gets a metal body it has a plastic strip for the power button and volume rocker which seems to be an odd choice whereas we don’t find these odd choices made in the Xiaomi Redmi Pad.
Display
On display, we can find a similar screen size of 10.61 inches for the Xiaomi Redmi Pad while the Samsung galaxy tab A8 gets 10.5 inches screen. In contrast, we can also see a similar screen-to-body ratio on the tablet measuring 80.9% and 80.0% respectively for the Xiaomi Redmi pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab A8.
Furthermore, the difference between the Xiaomi Redmi Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 can be seen in the specification of the tablet where the Xiaomi Redmi pad comes with an IPS LCD display featuring 1200 x 2000 pixels along with its 90hz refresh rate, 1 billion colors support and a promised 400 nits of brightness.

Performance
Powering these two tablets Xiaomi Redmi Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 are two various chipsets: MediaTek helio G99 and Unisoc Tiger T618. Camera
Moving on to the optics we can find an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 wide lens on the Xiaomi Redmi Pad whereas on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 we can find an 8MP camera without a wide lens. Furthermore both main cameras come with Autofocus and are capable of recording 1080p video at 30 fps while both of the tablets lack a flash on the main camera.
Whereas on the front of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad we can find an 8MP ultrawide camera with 105° with f/2.3 aperture while the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 comes with a 5MP front camera.
Software
The newer Xiaomi Redmi pad was launched with Andriod 12 out of the box along with MIUI 13.1 whereas the Samsung Tab A8 which was launched in 2021 came with Andriod 11 and One UI 3 theme on top.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has promised 2 OS updates for the Redmi Pad and three years of security patches which means Xiaomi should get MIUI 12 in 2024 alongside Andriod 14. In comparison, Samsung has committed to two complete android OS updates whereas its Android 12 update is already rolled out for Europe.
Battery and Other features
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad packs a larger 8000mAh battery in comparison to the 7040mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 whereas these two tablets come with fast charging of 18W and 15W respectively.
Moreover talking about other features both tablets have 4 stereo speakers with support for Dolby atmos whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Xiaomi Redmi pad is only available in a single variant which is 6GB/128GB priced at NPR 34,999 whereas the Samsung Galaxy Tab has multiple variants which are 64GB WIFI, 64GB WIFI+ Cellular, and 128GB Wifi+Cellular available in Nepal whereas the base Wifi only variant starts from NPR 35,499.
